Description from the publisher
Salt Spring Island Farmland Trust hosts Story Feast on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. The day is part dinner, part storytelling, and part cultural journey, with traditional Cowichan food, story, and Indigenous knowledge shared by Cowichan chef, educator, and knowledge keeper Jared Qwustenuxun Williams. The menu includes fire-roasted salmon, bentwood-steamed potatoes, berries, steamed or dried clams, seaweeds, salads, and breads and jams made with local berries. The gathering is outdoors, with a fire to gather around and a warm indoor seating area for feasting and visiting. Tickets are on a sliding scale: a standard ticket is $125, and a supportive ticket is $250, which also helps local Indigenous youth attend. Both include the farm-to-table dinner and drinks. Register on the host’s ticket page, and ticket holders are directed to the location on Salt Spring Island. Photo by Islander61, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons.
