From ancestral roots to contemporary revivals, we’ll learn how these place-based pastoral dances come to life in community gathering: with movements, codes, and songs. Following conversational dynamics rather than set choreography, these dances offer sets of codified movements which form a moving dialogue between dancers. Open to all ages and skill levels, no dance experience required Bring a water bottle and wear clothing that you’re comfortable moving in No street shoes are permitted in the studio, non-marking dance shoes, socks, or bare feet only For questions, email Kate Kate Causbie is a photographer, writer, and teacher with a background in ecopsychology and somatics. She spends half the year in Southern Italy, originally based near the area of Puglia that her great grandparents came from, in pursuit of living music and dance traditions.
