Pottery Northwest is moving into a new 10,000-square-foot, street-level facility at 2254 Seventh Ave., at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Bell Street. The new studio will feature large classrooms, a gallery and retail space, areas for exhibitions and public programming, and expanded kiln capabilities. Join us to hear from Executive Director Ed King, Programs & Exhibitions Director Shayla M. Alarie and Board President Ritika Kanade about the vision for the new space and what the move will mean for Pottery Northwest’s artists, students and community. The move marks a major new chapter for the 60-year-old Seattle arts organization. After years of being in Pioneer Square, Pottery Northwest’s new studio in South Lake Union will offer more natural light and visibility while creating additional opportunities for classes, workshops, artist talks and community programming. The expansion will also support scholarships and free and reduced-cost youth programming. The new facility will add another creative destination to downtown and help make South Lake Union a vibrant arts hub for all. Partners on this project include DSA members Amazon and NBBJ Design.
