There are many advantages to taking the shortest path. You get to where you’re going on time and you’re a hell of a lot less likely to get lost. But in taking the shortest path, there are so many sights to see and things to experience that are often missed along the way. Had Jackson made the effort in his younger days he might have arrived at a proper record a lot sooner, but he might not have had as much to say. This collection of songs represents a life lived. Many lessons learned and mistakes made. But the songs within are made all the richer by not taking the shortest path. This is the music you make when you take The Scenic Route.
