Description from the publisher

Join Brett Rousseau as she leads you through the journey of creating watercolor botanical illustrations based on HoytArboretum's very own herbarium collection. We will use herbarium "vouchers" (plant samples that are pressed, dried, and mounted for cataloging Hoyt's collection) as our muse. We will capture their leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits with our imagination and paint brush. This is a great stepping stone to painting plants from life. Ticket price includes $5 for basic supplies. You are also welcome to bring your favorite paper, pencils, pens, watercolors, and brushes. Space is limited; please register online. Registration closes Saturday, December 12th at 10:00am. Class details will be emailed closer to the program date. About the Instructor: Brett is an arborist, artist, and a native plant enthusiast. She works at Hoyt Arboretum raising the next generation of young trees in the collection. She is a freelance arborist, pruning trees in the Portland area, and a landscape designer with a passion to increase the amount of tree canopy and native plant habitat in our yards. Additional Program and Accessibility Information: Please review our adult education policies. Learn more about Visitor Center accessibility and paved trail options. We offer discounted program rates if you participate in an Oregon income assistance program. Please email programs@hoytarboretum.org for more information. Members of Hoyt Arboretum Friends can sign up for classes at discounted rates.
