Art, Community, and Civic Life: Jeff Beers Exhibit Opening Reception Opening reception: Thursday, November 12, 5-8 pm | Free On view: November 12-21 233 SW Naito Pkwy #100, Portland, OR 97204 A thriving city depends on people who make things, and on people who show up to support them. Join City Club’s Arts & Culture Interest Group and New Leaders Council for the opening reception of Paper & Raincoat, the Portland debut of matter painter Jeff Beers. Beers is a 2025-26 Genius Artist Fellow with New Room Studios, an Oregon nonprofit that gives artists the support they need to focus on their work and build sustainable careers. His new series is made from paper he aged for 30 years and surplus raincoat material rescued through local nonprofit SCRAP Creative Reuse. The exhibit is hosted in the historic downtown offices of the Salmonberry Trail Foundation, which is building an 82-mile trail from Banks to the Oregon Coast. Come to see innovative and beautiful art, tour the space, and meet some of the artists and organizers working together to contribute to Portland’s creative economy and shaping our community for generations to come. [RSVP Now] Can’t make the opening? The exhibit is free and open to the public through November 21.
