DESCRIPTION:Can YOU go the distance for monarch butterfly conservation? Ev
 ery spring\, monarch butterflies east of the Rocky Mountains migrate from 
 Mexico to their summer breeding grounds in the United States and Canada. I
 n the fall\, they journey nearly 3\,000 miles back down south to weather t
 he winter. This migration is becoming increasingly difficult due to habita
 t loss\, increased pesticide use\, climate change\, and other factors.  \
 n\n\n\nJoin the Virginia Zoo and the Tidewater Striders in supporting mona
 rch butterflies by running\, walking\, or fluttering through the Zoo on (N
 EW DATE!) Sunday\, September 20 before opening! Proceeds go directly to mo
