DESCRIPTION:The Military Aviation Museum has made the difficult decision t
o postpone its premiere airshow\, “Warbirds Over the Beach\,” to fall
2027. However\, the event dates of October 3-4\, 2026\, will still go forw
ard as a special living history event on the museum grounds. \nThe limited
availability of aircraft is preventing the museum from safely staging the
full airshow experience that guests expect. While Warbirds Over the Beach
is the museum’s largest annual fundraising event\, the team at the Mili
tary Aviation Museum believes in bringing guests only the very best warbir
d flying demonstrations and this postponement reflects that commitment to
both safety and quality. \nWhat to expect: \nWhile no aircraft demonstrati
ons will take place that weekend\, the museum’s historic warbird collect
ion will remain on full display across its four hangars. Guests may also r
eserve seats aboard the museum’s 1941 Stearman Biplane for scenic flight
s throughout the weekend. Reservations may be made online at: militaryavia
tionmuseum.org/warbird-rides. \nLiving history groups and reenactors will
establish encampments on the grounds from Friday evening through Sunday mo
 rning. On Saturday\, October 3\, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.\, the museum
will host a living history program featuring representatives from WWI\, WW
II\, and Korean War-era groups\, drawing on the museum’s full collection
to honor the spirit of America’s 250th anniversary. \nParticipating uni
ts will include the Parris Island Living History Detachment\, presenting a
static display and non-tactical weapons demonstration\, alongside WWII-er
a military vehicles. Throughout the grounds\, an array of living history g
roups will offer guests an immersive look into the past through period-acc
urate uniforms\, authentic encampments\, and various collections of milita
ria and vehicles. Food trucks will also be on-site Saturday to serve guest
s throughout the day. \nStandard daily museum admission includes full acce
ss to all living history programming for the weekend. \nAll proceeds from
this event help fund the Military Aviation Museum and its educational prog
ramming. We are a non-profit 501c3 museum. \nPlease visit the Living Histo
ry Event page for more details: \n2026 Living History Event
