 nson Street. \n\nJoin acclaimed cellist Hayoung Choi for an inspiring mast
 erclass featuring four outstanding cello students from the Victoria Conser
 vatory of Music and the University of Victoria.  \nKnown for her exception
 al musicianship\, expressive depth\, and compelling performances\, Choi br
 ings a distinctive perspective to the study of the cello and the interpret
 ation of the repertoire. \n\nAbout Hayoung Choi\n\nHayoung Choi is the Fir
 st Prize Winner of the 2022 Queen Elisabeth Competition for Cello. She has
  also received First Prize at the 3rd Krzysztof Penderecki International C
 ello Competition and the Johannes Brahms International Competition\, as we
 ll as awards such as the Landgrave of Hesse Prize\, the Leyda Ungerer Musi
 c Prize\, and the FENDI Music Award. Driven by a deep musical curiosity\, 
 she is committed not only to the core cello repertoire but also to bringin
 g lesser-known and rarely performed works to light. \n \nChoi made her deb
 ut at the age of twelve with Camerata Salzburg\, performing Haydn’s Cell
 o Concerto No. 1. Since then\, she has appeared as a soloist with leading 
 orchestras including the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin\, Los Angele
 s Philharmonic Orchestra\, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra\, Belgian Natio
 nal Orchestra\, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra\, Luxembourg Philharmonic Orche
 stra\, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra\, European Union Youth Orchestra\, Kre
 merata Baltica Orchestra\, Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester\, Pozna
 ń Philharmonic Orchestra\, Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra\, Boston Philha
 rmonic Orchestra\, KBS Symphony Orchestra\, Orquestra Amazonas Filarmônic
 a and Filarmônica de Minas Gerais. \n \nA passionate chamber musician\, C
 hoi has collaborated with celebrated artists such as Sir András Schiff\, 
 Gidon Kremer\, Christian Tetzlaff\, and Mitsuko Uchida. She regularly perf
 orms cello and violin duo works with her younger sister\, SongHa. \n  \nBo
 rn in Bielefeld\, Germany\, in 1998\, she attended the Purcell School in t
 he United Kingdom and later studied at the Kronberg Academy and the Escuel
 a Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid under Frans Helmerson\, Wolfg
 ang Emanuel Schmidt\, and Ivan Monighetti. She is currently pursuing Baroq
 ue cello studies with Lea Rahel Bader at the University of the Arts Berlin
