DESCRIPTION:Directed by Kathleen MacLean\nSet in “eighteen hundred and s
omething”\, three very different women with a preference for 21st-centur
y slang sit in a fort on the banks of the Reddish River\, sharing their vi
ews on life\, love\, and that hot nerd Louis Riel (“He is SO dreamy…th
e total package!”)\nIn this lively historical satire of survival and cul
tural inheritance\, playwright Frances Koncan shifts perspectives from the
male gaze onto women’s power-in the past and present-through the lens o
f the rapidly changing world of the Canadian fur trade.\nWHY WE CHOSE THIS
PLAY\nWe are captivated by the way that Koncan’s irreverent and witty c
omedy looks at Indigenous history through a modern feminist lens. Poking f
un at the men who have stolen the limelight for far too many years\, Marie
-Angelique\, Cecilia\, and Eugenia track the progress of-and interact with
-Louis Riel and Thomas Scott. -Michael Shamata and Nigel Shawn Williams \n

DESCRIPTION:ArtSea Community Arts Council invites residents and visitors t
o experience WaterWorks 2026 at ArtSea Gallery from October 16 to 22\, 202
 6. The gallery is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThis group exhibi
tion features recent and original watercolour paintings by accomplished lo
cal artists. Visitors can enjoy both plein air paintings and studio work.
As a result\, the exhibition offers a varied look at how artists approach
 light\, colour\, landscape\, and atmosphere. \nAbout WaterWorks 2026\nWate
rWorks 2026 brings together artists who share a passion for watercolour pa
inting. The exhibition features work by Ken Faulks\, Victor Crapnell\, Rod
ger Garbutt\, Hugh Partridge\, Sandhu Singh\, and Deborah Tilby. \nThe col
lection includes paintings created outdoors and pieces completed in the st
udio. Plein air painting allows artists to respond directly to changing li
ght\, weather\, and scenery. In contrast\, studio work gives them more tim
e to develop details and explore their ideas. \nTherefore\, visitors can e
xpect a diverse collection of subjects\, styles\, and artistic approaches.
Each artist brings a unique perspective to the exhibition. \nExhibition A
ctivities\nVisitors can explore recent watercolour paintings throughout th
e week. In addition\, they can compare the spontaneous qualities of plein
air work with the careful detail often found in studio paintings. \nThe ex
hibition also offers an opportunity to discover the work of several talent
ed artists in one welcoming space. After visiting the gallery\, guests can
walk through Tulista Park or enjoy Sidney’s waterfront. They can also e
 xplore nearby shops\, cafés\, and restaurants. \nEvent Information\nDates

popular. I have decided to add an additional time when we can meet at the
