tracked and approved with minimal environmental oversight or Indigenous co

ne of those projects\, right on the fragile shores of the Fraser River Es

t\, pollute the Salish Sea with underwater noise\, increase the likelihood
of a catastrophic oil spill\, and threaten the long-term health of coasta
l communities that depend on this ecosystem. It could spell extinction fo
r the Southern Resident killer whales\, too.The Major Projects Office is l
ooking for feedback on whether or not the new West Coast Pipeline should b
e designated a project of national interest (PONI). If it receives this de
signation\, the pipeline will proceed to construction before it receives
any impact assessment. We have until September 18th to submit our feedba

to learn from a panel of experts\, as they discuss topics about the Salis

Film School will lead a discussion on silent-era special effects with a sp
ecial guest.Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920) stars John Barrymore as a respe
cted doctor who develops a potion intended to separate the good and evil s
ides of human nature. His experiment releases the cruel Mr. Hyde\, an alte
r ego who becomes increasingly difficult to control\, with tragic conseque
nces. An especially remarkable feature of the silent film is Barrymore’s
first transformation into Hyde\, which he performed largely by contorting
his face and body rather than relying on makeup or camera effects.
