DESCRIPTION:The Vancouver Taiwanese Film Festival is back for another year
 . \nBuilding upon last year’s theme\, “The Lense of New Era”\, the 2
026 Festival centers on “New Generation Lenses” as its core theme. Thi
s theme explores how Taiwan’s emerging generation of image-makers expres
s personal identity\, cultural consciousness\, and social perspectives thr
ough distinctive viewpoints\, innovative storytelling\, and diverse media
practices. \nVancouver Taiwanese Film Festival\nAmid the tides of globaliz
ation and digital transformation\, young creators have grown up immersed i
 n social media\, multicultural environments\, and cross-disciplinary artis
tic landscapes. Their lenses are not merely tools for capturing images\, b
ut symbols of observation\, reflection\, and expression. Through short fil
 ms\, documentaries\, VR/AR\, interactive media\, and new media storytellin
g\, “New Generation Lenses” showcases the Taiwanese youth’s creative
engagement with issues such as urbanization\, ethnicity\, gender\, techno
logical change\, and environmental concerns. \n“The Lense of New Era”
not only continues the exploration of visual media and self-expression
introduced in “The Filter Era\,” but also places greater emphasis on
how a new generation of creators re-envisions Taiwan and the world through
their lenses—building cultural dialogue and community connections throu
gh moving images. \nThe 2026 festival marks a significant milestone in bri
nging Taiwanese cinema to the international stage. Through the integration
  of heritage\, innovation\, and cross-cultural communication\, VTWFF aims
not only to showcase Taiwanese culture in Canada and North America\, but a
lso to share the essence of Taiwanese artistry with global audiences. This
edition of the festival seeks to deepen global understanding of Taiwan\,
highlight its resilience and creative spirit\, and usher in a new chapter
for Taiwanese cinema worldwide. \nEVENT DETAILS: \n📅 Dates: September

industries as you. Platforms like Indeed\, Workopolis and LinkedIn are the
most used portals to start your career in Canada. Search for professional

a casual affair. You can meet up at a nearby Starbucks and make an importa

DESCRIPTION:After 27 years of reshaping what a jazz group could be\, The B
ad Plus says goodbye. Catch one of the final shows on their international
farewell tour before the band closes its story for good this December. \nK
nown for pulling rock’s energy\, improvisational freedom\, and an irreve
rent\, genre-blind sense of humour into one sound\, The Bad Plus built a r
eputation as one of the most distinctive acts in modern jazz\, equally at
home covering Nirvana as reinventing Stravinsky. The current lineup\, foun
ding members Reid Anderson bass and Dave King drums with Ben Monder guitar
and Chris Speed saxophone\, has spent the past two years touring farewell
dates across North America\, Europe\, Japan\, and Australia. Vancouver is
one of their last stops before the band closes things out in Minneapolis\
, where it all began. \nThis is your last chance to hear them live. \nAcce
ssibility: Tickets are general admission with a combination of standing ro
om\, theatre soft seats\, and bar stools. Seating is limited\, and availab
le only on a first-come\, first-serve basis. We encourage you to get on th
 e dance floor!
