DESCRIPTION:Our second performance features Vancouver Kathak artist Palak
Dhiman in a kathak recital performed with live Hindustani music. \nThe eve
ning presents the exploration of a single raga through three compositions
representing the Dhrupad and Khayal traditions of Hindustani vocal music.
The raga’s journey is shaped through melodic development and rhythmic in
terplay\, with tabla and Kathak compositions woven throughout the presenta
tion. Together\, dance\, melody\, and rhythm converge in continuous artist
ic experience. \nPalak is joined by Sunny Matharu (Tabla)\, Akhil Jobanput
ra (Vocals)\, and Pavittar Singh Namdhari (Esraj). \nThis program is prese
nted by the Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver\, and is funded in
part by the BC Live Performance Network’s Community Presenters Assistan

DESCRIPTION:Three acclaimed works open Ballet Vancouver’s inaugural seas
on in a dazzling triple bill of breathtaking range and ambition\, featurin
g Principal dancers Heather Ogden of The National Ballet of Canada and
Frances Chung of San Francisco Ballet — two Vancouver-trained artis
ts whose remarkable journeys began in this city before ascending to the wo

abriele Frola of San Francisco Ballet. \nThe program includes Balanchin
e’s Apollo — a cornerstone of the neoclassical repertoire and one of
the most performed and revered works in ballet history — is a staple of
major ballet companies around the world. The spellbinding Black Swan Pas
de Deux is one of the most iconic scenes from the beloved classic Swan La
ke. And Jorma Elo’s Slice to Sharp\, originally created for New York C
ity Ballet’s Diamond Project in 2006\, makes its Canadian premiere\, set
ting pulsing modern movement to an unexpected pairing of Baroque melodies.
Together\, the program is a compelling testament to the athleticism and a

DESCRIPTION:In this duet co-authored and performed by Ziyian Kwan and Shio
n Skye Carter\, two bodies slipstitch between rupture and repair. The arti
sts share select stories and memories through the weft and warp of images\

approaches to explore content that is at once frayed and tidily knit. Wha
t emerges is a reflection on mending through the gentle and persistent wor

DESCRIPTION:ATI Vancouver welcomes you to Canada! Vancouver is a melting p
ot for so many immigrants from all over the world. The percentage of India
ns migrating to Canada has increased tremendously in the last ten years. \
nBefore you begin your next big chapter\, take a look at the four major ti
ps to help you with your journey in your new country. These tips can help
you settle faster in Canada. \n1. Join Professional Platforms \nThe most c
ommon professional platforms in Canada are used not only for job seeking b
ut also to interact like-minded individuals and people working in similar
industries as you. Platforms like Indeed\, Workopolis and LinkedIn are the
most used portals to start your career in Canada. Search for professional
groups on LinkedIn. You can find some interesting groups on Meetup also.
 \n2. Build your Resume/CV \nBuilding a resume and/or curriculum Vitae can
be made easy with simple templates available easily on the Government of C
anada website and Indeed. They can help you create your professional resum
e according to what is commonly used in Canada. It is best to have a maxim
um of 2 pages and make sure it’s not too “crowded” or “wordy.” R
each out to a Human resources personnel within the community to review you
r resume for you – there are many people that genuinely offer their serv
ices. The Government of Canada website also has a section in planning your
career and to learn more about occupations in Canada. \nResume Templates
\nResume Builder \nCareer Planning \n3. Network \nNetworking in Canada is
a casual affair. You can meet up at a nearby Starbucks and make an importa
nt connection. Ideally\, people prefer messages or emails before they meet
someone or agree to talk on a call. Punctuality is important in these sce
narios\, and it is polite to offer to pay during the meetup if it involves
