DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to be September’s Charity Coffee by Desert
Drifter: the Mesquite Caramel Latte! \nThis delicious drink features a Me
squite Honey Caramel sauce made by Tucson Chocolate Factory\, LLC\, and it
was inspired by our SOMBRA program\, which is working to address shade in
equity around Southern Arizona. \nEven better\, all profits from the Mesqu
ite Caramel Latte sold in September will support the Community Food Bank
’s mission to provide meals and so much more to our communities. ❤️
\nSo what exactly is SOMBRA? \n🌱 SOMBRA (Sonoran Mesquite Barrio Restor
ation Alliance) was launched to help address Tucson’s extreme heat and f
ood insecurity by planting mesquite trees in “shade deserts\,” urban n
eighborhoods that have historically lacked access to shade\, particularly
south of 22nd Street. \n🌳 The goal? 20\,000 mesquite trees by 2030. \nT
he work began nearly four years ago with funding from a state grant throug
h the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management and continues tod
ay with support from a growing network of partners. \nEvery tree planted h
elps create more shade\, strengthen our urban environment\, and build a he
althier\, more resilient community.🌳☀️ \nSo stop by Desert Drifter
Coffee and try the Mesquite Caramel Latte this month! \nAnd thank you\, De
sert Drifter Coffee\, for helping us spread the word about SOMBRA\, one la
 tte at a time!
