DESCRIPTION:Join Reid Park Zoo for a fun morning walk in solidarity with r
angers protecting wildlife across Africa. After the walk\, get to know the
species you are helping to protect during Zoo Keeper chats inside the Zoo
  — Zoo admission for the day is included with your event participation.
\nFestivities begin in the Zoo’s Welcome Plaza\, with check in opening a
t 7:30 a.m. \nThe walk will start just outside Reid Park Zoo and proceed t
hrough the the shadiest\, coolest sections of Reid Park. Walk length will
be approximately 2 miles\, but shorter options are available if the mornin
g gets toasty! \nThe Wildlife Ranger Challenge\, powered by Tusk.org\, sup
ports front-line rangers across Africa by raising vital funds for frontlin
e conservation efforts and awareness of the important work rangers do to p
 rotect Africa’s biodiversity. \nOn September 19\, more than 150 ranger t
eams spanning the African continent will unite to compete in a half marath
on race carrying their typical 48 pound backpack and equipment. Teams arou
nd the world are partnering with them to show solidarity for the vital rol
e they play in protecting Africa’s wildlife. \nOver the course of the la
st six years\, we’ve seen an incredible swell of public support for wild
life rangers. Since 2020\, the Wildlife Ranger Challenge has raised over $
25 million globally\, supporting 11\,500 rangers across 24 African countri
es and benefiting over 500\,000 people. Protecting 58 million hectares\, t
he initiative boosts ranger fitness\, morale\, and performance. \nRegistra
