Rather than simply doc umenting what appears before the camera\, Scott uses photography to separa te familiar forms from their ordinary context\, inviting viewers to encoun ter fire as shape\, movement\, light and visual exploration.  \nScott has been capturing images since 1969. His multidisciplinary career also spans architecture\, graphic design and lecturing\, alongside extensive travel and work as a tour guide in Japan\, France and Italy. \nThe works in Fire reflect Scott’s longstanding interest in images that move beyond straigh tforward representation. Some begin with conventional scenes and are isola ted or transformed until the identity of the original subject becomes seco ndary. In other works\, movement\, multiple exposures\, fragments and digi tal or film-based layering are used to build an image piece by piece\, pro ducing something closer to a visual re-assembly than a documentary record. \nScott deliberately leaves room for uncertainty and personal interpretat ion.
