Set into walls in their original form or broken into flat\, re ctilinear pieces\, Blue Willow plates and their luminous blue-and-white su rface effectively framed gods and kings\, creating a multisensory space. \ nTaking the late 19th-century sites of Juna Mahal in Dungarpur and Junagad h Fort in Bikaner as points of departure\, this online talk will explore h ow the design and materiality of Willow ware and its display acquired new meaning and purpose in Indian palaces. \nEvoking the tradition of tiled or namentation and the display of ceramics in the chini khana (“China room ”) in India\, while also referencing European porcelain rooms\, the tran sferware-covered walls reveal the complex cultural negotiations and materi al and political aspirations of 19th-century India. After rece iving an M.Sc. in Sustainable Development and working for five years in th e solar industry\, Chloe pivoted to complete a certificate in Ceramic Arts from the Haliburton School of Art and Design in 2022. In early 2024\, Chl oe attended the Banff Centre for Arts as an emerging artist in residence. In the summer of 2024 Chloe participated in the City of Toronto’s Public Art Mentorship program\, which will culminate in a six-month installation at the Toronto Sculpture Garden in April 2026 focusing on play and intera ctivity. In 2025\, Chloe participated in the DesignTO Festival with a solo exhibition\, The Artist Project in Toronto\, and group shows across Ontar io. Chloe is currently working with mentors through the Cohorts.Art and FU SION mentorship programs to further work which focuses on connection\, bel onging\, and identity.
