Rather than attempting to capture botanic al detail\, the session will encourage participants to identify and record the essential characteristics of a plant\, including its overall form and relationship to its surroundings. The session will focus on observation a nd drawing exercises\, and will explore how plant massing\, texture\, and seasonal character contribute to the overall composition of the landscape. \n​Participants will encounter several of the Lassonde Art Trail’s ar tworks. These sculptures and installations will serve as points of inspira tion and observation\, encouraging participants to consider the relationsh ip between art\, landscape\, and ecology while expanding their approach to sketching in the field. \n​This program is at an advanced beginner leve l. After rece iving an M.Sc. in Sustainable Development and working for five years in th e solar industry\, Chloe pivoted to complete a certificate in Ceramic Arts from the Haliburton School of Art and Design in 2022. In early 2024\, Chl oe attended the Banff Centre for Arts as an emerging artist in residence. In the summer of 2024 Chloe participated in the City of Toronto’s Public Art Mentorship program\, which will culminate in a six-month installation at the Toronto Sculpture Garden in April 2026 focusing on play and intera ctivity. In 2025\, Chloe participated in the DesignTO Festival with a solo exhibition\, The Artist Project in Toronto\, and group shows across Ontar io. Chloe is currently working with mentors through the Cohorts.Art and FU SION mentorship programs to further work which focuses on connection\, bel onging\, and identity.
