DESCRIPTION:Give Thanks\, Give Back by Hanna Rachocka is an entirely onlin
e exhibit and charity auction benefiting the Carrollwood Cultural Center.
The exhibit and auction will close on December 31\, 2026.\nThe collection
is a series of ten impasto acrylic paintings by Hanna Rachocka that transf
orm the traditional still life into an elemental exploration of emotion\,
weather\, and inner fire. Each vessel becomes a metaphor for the human spi
rit—resilient in rain\, tangled in thought\, radiant in bloom\, or aflam
e with creative force. Together\, the works weave a narrative of resilienc
 e\, paradox\, celebration\, and transformation\, inviting viewers to refle
ct on the seasons and storms of the soul. \nEach original painting is valu
ed at $700 but available for a $375 donation. You can purchase each painti
ng by donating directly to the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Paintings are

DESCRIPTION:Artists Greg Latch and Jason Shiver present “Different Persp
ectives” in the Corridor Gallery. \nLicatta View by Jason Shiver \nJason
Shiver: Jason Shiver is a Tampa Bay area outsider artist\, Shiver will of
ten tell viewers of his art\, that he goes in every direction at once. “
I just reach for what inspires and feel that as long as I do that\, I can
never go wrong.” He says\, “Many critics say that in order to have a v
oice you have to pick a path and create a body of art that demonstrates yo
ur style.  Shiver says\," the only have to\, is that I have to create.”
\nYbor Nights by Greg Latch \nGreg Latch: My work grows from the energy o
f daily life and the complexity of human experience. Working in Ybor City
 \, I’m surrounded by movement\, history\, and people\, and that constant
activity becomes part of the painting process. Painting is a process of d
iscovery. Images appear\, disappear\, and transform as the work develops.
The final piece holds traces of that evolution — a record of movement\,
 emotion\, and time.

DESCRIPTION:For the last few years\, I tried to use drawing materials the
way most other creators use oils or acrylics. As a result\, I can never pr
edict what the finished artwork will look like\, even though lately I have
been doodling thumbnail sketches before grabbing a larger sheet of paper
or poster board. I had drawn flowers and pets before\, but nowadays\, I d
on’t want to tackle the same subject matter repeatedly. My first solo ex
hibit was shown on the Sommer Haus online gallery from December 2025 to Fe
bruary 2026. I called my show “Grace in the Grotesque” because I want
my body of work to be anything but ordinary. Whether it’s my erotic lava
lamp series (currently hanging in the Funk on Pinellas Road)\, my updated
take on centuries old works of art\, or responses to corrupt politics\,
I nevertheless want each and every one of my pieces to be remembered and t
alked about long after spectators leave the room.

DESCRIPTION:Join docent Amy Tyrrell for a 20-minute guided walkthrough of
Cigar City and discover how Tampa became one of the world’s leading ciga
r manufacturing centers. Amy connects Henry B. Plant’s transportation ne
twork with Vicente Martinez Ybor’s cigar factories\, revealing how indus
try and immigration transformed a small Florida community into the city of
Tampa. \nExplore maps\, photographs and historical artifacts while learni
ng about Ybor City’s immigrant communities\, mutual aid societies and co
nnections to the Cuban War of Independence. Discover why Tampa’s histori
c cigars were called clear Havana cigars\, how lectors shaped daily life i
nside the factories and how the cigar industry influenced Tampa’s develo
pment and identity. \nAmy has served as a docent at the Ybor City Museum S
tate Park for five years and works part-time at the Henry B. Plant Museum.
Her experience with both institutions provides visitors with a distinct p
erspective on the relationship among Plant’s transportation system\, Ybo
 r’s cigar industry and Tampa’s growth. \nAbout gallery tours\nDocent-l
ed gallery tours invite guests to examine artifacts\, maps\, photographs a
nd other historical materials from the History Center’s collections whil
 e hearing accurate\, well-researched accounts of the people\, events and i
ndustries that shaped Tampa Bay. \nDuring each 20-minute tour\, an experie
nced docent interprets selected artifacts and displays\, explains what the
y reveal about the past and answers visitor questions. For first-time visi
tors\, a gallery tour provides a focused introduction to the History Cente
r’s collections and a strong starting point for exploring the galleries.
Tours are included with admission. \nADMISSION TICKETS

Paintings are
available for immediate pick up once the donation is made. 100% of the pro

DESCRIPTION:Join docent Jim Dinsmore for a 30-minute guided tour at the ga
llery entrance on the second floor and learn how maps document the people\
, movement and conflicts that shaped Florida. Jim connects individual maps
on topics such as Indigenous communities\, European explorers\, settlers\
, U.S. troops and Seminoles\, showing how geography influenced encounters\
, transportation routes and the growth of communities across the state. \n
On this gallery tour\, Jim discusses concepts such as Indigenous groups an
d foreign explorers\, competition for territory during the 1800s and the m
ilitary roads that connected Florida communities. \nJim previously worked
in communications for local nonprofits. After moving to Tampa and spending
time at the History Center\, he developed a broader understanding of Flor
ida history and an appreciation for maps as more than tools for finding a
route. His tour presents them as graphic records of how people moved acros
s the land\, interacted and shaped the places Floridians know today. \nAbo
 ut gallery tours\nDuring docent-led gallery tours\, guests view artifacts\
, maps\, photographs and other historical materials from the History Cente
 r’s collections while hearing accurate\, well-researched stories about t
he people\, events and communities that shaped Tampa Bay. \nEach tour cent
ers on specific objects and displays\, specifically maps for this series o
f gallery tours. The docent explains what these materials document\, conne
cts them to broader historical events and answers visitor questions. For f
irst-time visitors\, a gallery tour provides a focused introduction to the
History Center’s collections and the major themes presented throughout
the galleries. Tours are included with admission. \nGET TICKETS

this city\, and a little planning makes it go smoothly. Here are a few th
ings to keep in mind before you head out.  Double-check the dog policy be
fore you go\, since these can change without notice If dogs are limited t
o outdoor seating\, confirm the patio or beer garden is open\, especially
in the colder months Weekends and evenings get crowded and loud\, so aim
for an afternoon if your pup does better with space Keep your dog leashed

DESCRIPTION:Florida CraftArt presents Formed by Fire\, an exhibition expl
oring the transformative possibilities of metal through both traditional c
asting techniques and contemporary fabrication. United by the elemental fo
rce of heat\, artists reveal how material\, process\, and craftsmanship sh
ape both form and meaning. \nFrom molten metal poured into molds to fabric
ated structures assembled through cutting\, welding\, and forging\, this e
xhibition highlights the dynamic relationship between precision and unpred
ictability that defines work in metal. Each artist engages with the materi
al’s unique physical properties\, embracing both its strength and its re
sponsiveness to fire\, pressure\, and time. Formed by Fire celebrates th
