 ne day only\, join us at the Washington State History Museum on September 
 17\, 2026\, to view the original 1889 Constitution of the State of Washing
 ton. Presented by the Office of the Secretary of State and the Washingt
 on State Archives\, this special event is part of Washington’s America2
 50 celebrations and honors the Day of Civic Engagement. \n\n“It is our
  duty and obligation to the people of Washington to preserve and make acce
 ssible significant documents that helped shape our state and how we live o
 ur lives\,” said Secretary of State Steve Hobbs. “Washingtonians will 
 have the opportunity to connect with a formative piece of their history th
 at they otherwise may not have had. We want to bring their history to them
 .” \n\n\nWashington’s Constitution was created in 1889 by 75 delegates
  who drafted the document that paved the way for statehood. On November 11
 \, 1889\, President Benjamin Harrison approved it\, making Washington the 
 42nd state in the Union. \n\nWhen not on display for special occasions\, t
 he constitution is carefully protected in a climate-controlled vault at th
 e Washington State Archives in Olympia. Learn more about the Washington St

 ct is a unique space for young minds to explore their creativity\, connect
  with peers\, and embrace the joy of self-expression. The schedule provid
