DESCRIPTION:“A Sexual History of the Internet” is a participatory lect
ure performance and artist book by Mindy Seu. It reveals the pervasive and
perverted origins of our digital tools. How have technologies shaped and
been shaped by sexuality? Together\, we will examine the relationships bet
ween techno-development and sexuality\, innovation and autonomy\, lust and
extraction. In the participatory lecture performance\, citations are read
aloud by you\, the audience\, through a shared script on your mobile devic
 e. It is a performance of re-citation. This Instagram-Stories-as-Lecture f
ormat was first conceived of by Julio Correa in Seu’s Lecture Performanc
e studio course (Fall 2023) at Yale School of Art. Seu further developed t
his format\, in collaboration with Correa\, for “A Sexual History of the
Internet.” Reigstration for this event is required as seating is limite
 d. Doors open at 7 p.m. Performance begins at 7:30 p.m. No late entry perm
 itted.Please note:This performance includes explicit references to sex\, s
exual assault and nudity. This performance will take place in a dark room
with bright\, flashing lights.About the ArtistMindy Seu (b. 1991\, Califor
nia) is an artist and technologist based in Los Angeles and New York City.
Her practice of technology-driven performance and publication focuses on
online culture and internet history. “A Sexual History of the Internet
” (2025) follows her first book “Cyberfeminism Index” (2023)\, a pse
udo-encyclopedia that gathers three decades of online activism and net art
\, which was commissioned by Rhizome\, premiered at the New Museum\, and a
warded a Graham Foundation Grant. Seu is currently teaching as an associat

DESCRIPTION:In Islam\, Friday prayer\, or Congregational prayer (Arabic:
 صَلَاة ٱلْجُمُعَة Ṣalāt al-Jumuʿah)\, is a prayer (ṣ
alāt) that Muslims hold every Friday after noon\, instead of the Zuhr pra
yer. Muslims ordinarily pray five times each day according to the sun's sk
y path\, regardless of time zones. Youm Jumu’ah ("day of congregation")\
, or simply Jumuah means Friday in Arabic. In many Muslim countries\, the
weekend is inclusive of Fridays\, and in others\, Fridays are half-days fo
r schools and some workplaces. It is one of the most exalted Islamic ritua
ls and one of its confirmed obligatory acts. \n\nMuslim Student Life at S
yracuse University supports Muslim students\, faculty\, and staff in all r
eligious and spiritual needs for development and growth. It is about accom
modation\, openness\, and understanding – not judgement or restriction.
Muslim Student Life aims at improving understanding and representation of
Muslim cultures and communities here in the US and around the world throug
h sharing our universal values with people of faith and no faith. \n\nFor
