 \nDo you sometimes feel like an unreliable narrator with an inconsistent b
 ackstory? Are you experiencing prolonged discomfort from a rupture in your
  Central Timeline? Time travel might be worth the risk. Join Crystal Odell
 e for an afternoon of fabulous experiments in storytelling\, supported by 
 the St. Louis Independent Comics Expo (SLICE). Together\, writers will bre
 ak point of view\, tense\, chronology\, and just maybe reality itself. Cry
 stal will talk from experience in (non)fiction\, but creatives in other di

 mber Sunday Workshop! This will be a generative workshop. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
 ABOUT THE WORKSHOP\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPoetry Comics! \n\n\n\nBy including visu
 als in our writing practice\, we can escape from creative ruts and embrace
  poetry’s dreamlike qualities. Poets like Bianca Stone\, Gabrielle Bates
 \, and Mita Mahato create surreal comics that involve collages\, ink drawi
 ngs\, and paintings. The resulting images are striking: a man with the hea
 d of a bird\, a papercut whale\, and a human-sized ice cream cone in space
 . This workshop offers the time and art materials for you to craft your ve
 ry own poetry comic. As a participant\, you need not identify as an artist
  or a poet\; you need only bring your curiosity and imagination. \n\n\n\n\
 n\n\n\nGUIDELINES & REGISTRATION\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note: this workshop
  is limited to 15 participants. Registration is required\, and is first-co

 at uses creative writing workshops to amplify the voices of St. Louis yout
 h. She received an MD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School o
 f Medicine and an MFA from The New School Graduate Writing Program in New 
 York City. One may find her writing in Bone Bouquet\, The Boiler Journal\,
  and Bellingham Review\, among other publications. A Moth Collection is he
 r debut book of poetry\, released in May of 2026\, by Finishing Line Press
