DESCRIPTION:Ballyhoo Theatre is thrilled to present our Mainstage Producti
on of CABARET! Cabaret\, the 1966 groundbreaking masterpiece with music by
John Kander and Fred Ebb and book by Joe Masteroff\, is set in the shadow
s of 1931 Berlin during the rise of the Nazi regime. Cabaret explores the
relationships between club performer Sally Bowles and American novelist Cl
iff Bradshaw\, and between gentile Fräulein Schneider\, a boarding house
proprietor\, and her tenant Herr Schultz\, a mild-mannered Jewish fruit se
ller. Overseeing the action at the Kit Kat Klub is the mysterious Master o
f Ceremonies\, presenting classic musical theatre hits as commentary throu
ghout the piece. Cabaret examines the dangers of keeping our eyes closed t
o the world around us\, and reminds us to stand up against the power of ha
tred to take away our human rights.

 																		\n \n \n \n Sounds of pickleballs hitti
ng paddles\, lively chatter\, and friendly competition could be heard acro
ss Downtown Seattle as thousands joined us for our fourth annual Picklebal
l for All on August 29 and 30\, 2026. Over 3\,000 community members joined
us near the Amazon Spheres to play pickleball\, cheer each other on\, rec
eive free 1:1 coaching\, support local vendors\, and more. This year our e
vent broke a state record\, with the official headcount revealing that Pic
kleball for All was the biggest pickleball event in Washington State!
 				\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
There wasn’t a dull moment over the weekend. Over 900 early reg
istrants were welcomed with free pickleball paddles upon arrival courtesy
of Kaiser Permanente\, who also hosted a Relaxation Lounge for the event.
Pickleball for All is designed to be an inclusive event for all players re
gardless of ability and experience\, and with eight temporary ADA-accessib
le pickleball courts to choose from\, participants and spectators were spr
ead across 6th Avenue between Blanchard and Virginia streets for matches\,
free coaching by Bellevue Pickleball Club\, and family-friendly activitie
s like games and face painting. Guests also had the opportunity to play a
pro pickleball player from the Seattle Tsunami for a chance to win a Love
 Parks t-shirt! \n \n \n \n \
 n \n \n \n We appreciate everyone who helped coordinate o
ne of Seattle Parks Foundation’s biggest events of the year\, and specia
l thanks to all the players for spending your weekend with us! Pickleball
for All was hosted by Seattle Parks Foundation and the City of Seattle wit
h support from Seattle Metro Pickleball Association\, made possible thanks
to Presenting Sponsorship from Amazon and our Official Health Care Partne

w | Duration: 00:30:27 | Recorded on September 8\, 2026 Many of us live wi
 th conditions that persist—chronic pain\, illness\, disability\, neurodi
vergence\, aging bodies. The Buddha taught the Four Foundations of Mindful
ness as the direct path to freedom\, inviting us into wise relationship wi
th our actual embodied experience\, not an idealized version of it. \nOver
four sessions\, which will be held online and in person\, we’ll practic
e with the Four Foundations—Body\, Feeling Tone\, Mind\, and the Hindran
ces as one of the Dhammas—as companions for persistent conditions. Drawi
ng on my experience as a person who stutters\, an invisible disability oft
en misunderstood as something to overcome\, we’ll explore how these teac
hings support liberation through meeting what persists with wisdom and com
passion. \nChanging our relationship with difficulty takes time. But the p
ractice itself can reveal what we might not expect: that what persists can
  become a teacher\, can become a doorway\, can even become a gift. \nEach
session includes practice\, a dharmette\, and time for questions. All bodi
es and minds are invited to join. \nRegistration & Donation\nIf you are jo
ining this class after the first session\, please RSVP at the bottom of th
e page at this link. You will receive a zoom link before the event begins.

DESCRIPTION:The ancient old-growth forests of Cascadia are a bioregion tha
t rivals the Amazonian rainforest. This vertical world houses centuries of
ecological impact and supports countless species — including acclaimed
nature writer Marina Richie. In her newest book\, Feathered Forest: Aloft
with Birds in Ancient Trees\, Richie journeys through the levels of these
iconic groves\, the resident birds that guide the ascent\, and the persona
l paths that brought her to champion them both. \nBeginning in Richie’s
home in Central Oregon and spanning both sides of the Cascade Mountains\,
Feathered Forest explores the centuries-old forests that hold a crucial
space in this time of climate crisis. The birds that inhabit this unique l
andscape act as guides to understanding the intricacies of the forest\, an
d how we can learn to be better stewards for our threatened lands. Blendin
g her lifelong love and study of trees and wildlife with reflections on he
r own personal growth journey\, Richie takes readers under her wing as she
seeks appreciation and preservation of these ecosystems.

DESCRIPTION:The award-winning\, bestselling author of Station Eleven and S
ea of Tranquility returns with Exit Party\, a breathtaking novel of double
s\, shadow worlds\, and fractured timelines as a man disappears from a gli
 ttering Los Angeles party\, and a woman—a gunrunner\, an art collector\,
  an operative of the State—searches for answers. \nLos Angeles\, 2031: T
he first spring after the collapse of the United States\, peacekeeping tro
ops withdraw from the city\, the Jacaranda trees blossom\, and the curfew
is finally lifted. Ari Waker and her roommate pass the gauntlet of bomb-sn
iffing dogs\, the shanty towns\, and the Red Cross tents as they walk acro
ss Silverlake to a party. The mood is ecstatic inside the apartment\, peop
le drink and dance\, a woman wears a silver dress\, pleated like tinfoil.
And then: A shift. A bewildered twin\, an uncanny doppleganger stumbles th
rough the crowd and out into the night\, and Kareem\, the party’s host\,
vanishes into thin air. \nAs Ari Waker unravels the mystery of this inexp
licable night\, Emily St. John Mandel unfurls a story that takes us from a
future America splintered by civil war to the seaside cliffs of Greece wh
ere weapons dealers hide in an elegant resort\, and from the domed city of
Paris to a colony on the moon. An unforgettable literary feat\, Exit Par
ty is a novel about the price of safety\, the perils of the surveillance
state\, a requiem for a world not unlike our own\, and a breathtaking stor
y of resilience in the face of cataclysmic change.

\nMargaret Chase Smith stood alone on the Senate floor\, summoning the co
