DESCRIPTION:Historic Seattle invites you behind the scenes tour at Earthwi
se’s Salvage Lumber Warehouse\, where salvaged old-growth timbers aren
 ’t just saved — they’re cleaned\, milled\, reimagined\, and put back
to work. \nMore than a lumber warehouse\, Earthwise’s newest operation
is a first-of-its-kind reuse hub for the region’s built environment. Sin
ce 1991\, Earthwise Architectural Salvage has been rescuing materials from
buildings across the Pacific Northwest\; in 2025\, the team expanded that
mission with a dedicated drop-off point and retail location for salvaged
lumber. Every board\, beam\, and plank tells a story — of old-growth for
ests\, historic craft\, and a city learning how to build without wasting w
hat came before. \n \nJoin us for a behind the scenes look at reclaimed lu
mber and discover how salvage can support today’s preservation movement
while supplying reliable materials for builders\, woodworkers\, hobbyists\
, and DIYers alike. We’ll learn how Earthwise de-nails\, mills\, and fin
ishes lumber for reuse\, and see the industrial-grade equipment that trans
forms rescued Pacific Northwest timbers into ready to use materials. \nPle
ase note that the Salvage Lumber Warehouse is an active lumber processing
and retail space with equipment\, stacked materials\, and uneven surfaces.
If you have any accessibility questions or concerns\, please reach out to
Daniel Crider\, our Community Programs Manager. \nThis low cost program i
s supported in part by 4Culture. \nPhoto courtesy of Earthwise Architectur
