 Basic Course\, an in-person training program for people who want to learn 
 disaster response skills\, begins Wednesday\, Sept. 9. \nThe Burien CERT B
 asic Course will meet from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Fire Station #28 in Burien ea
 ch Wednesday beginning Sept. 9\, with a final drill scheduled for Saturday
 \, Nov. 7\, according to course information. \nParticipants are asked to a
 ttend each session\, and a CERT certificate of completion will be awarded 
 after the training and final drill are completed. \nThe Community Emergenc
 y Response Team Program educates individuals in disaster preparedness for 
 hazards that may affect the community. \n“CERT training is for everyone.
  There is a job for everyone\,” according to the course announcement. \n
 Training will cover basic disaster response skills\, including fire safety
 \, search and rescue\, team organization and disaster medical operations. 
 Organizers said the skills learned in class and during exercises can help 
 CERT members assist others in their neighborhoods or workplaces after an e
 mergency when professional responders are not immediately available. \nThe
  course is open to people who live or work in the City of Burien. The trai
 ning may be especially relevant for residents and workers in Burien and ne
