DESCRIPTION:Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training empowers com
 munity members with the skills needed to save lives\, reduce injuries\, a
 nd protect property during emergencies. \nOn a typical day\, emergency res
 ponders are highly trained and equipped to handle incidents. However\, fol
 lowing a large-scale disaster\, first responders may be overwhelmed due t
 o widespread damage\, communication failures\, or impassable roads. CERT t
 eaches you how to provide emergency assistance safety and effectively unti
 l trained responders arrive. \nCERT Basic Training is an 8-week program 
 consisting of one class per week and concludes with a hands-on disaster s
 imulation designed to practice the skills \nPuget Sound Fire invites indi
 viduals who live or work in Covington\, Kent\, Maple Valley\, SeaTac\, Tu
 kwila\, and King County Fire Districts #37 and #43\, to participate in our
  upcoming CERT Basic Training. \nIn Fall 2026\, Puget Sound Fire will offe
 r two CERT training options\, an afternoon class and an evening class.

 t and data risks. Our electronic devices hold everything from photos to se
 nsitive personal information\; we will discuss the importance of making su
 re that data is securely destroyed. PCs for People is a local nonprofit th
 at provides secure e-waste recycling and refurbishment\, working to get el
 ectronics out of the landfill while providing low-income folks with low-co
 st devices. Only phones\, tablets\, desktop & laptop computers\, monitors\
 , keyboards\, cameras\, TVs\, printers\, mice\, and CD/DVD players will be
