DESCRIPTION:The Pet Spotlight for the South Pacific County Humane Society
in Long Beach\, WA is The Prettiest Blossom of a Cat — Meet Sweet Pea!\n
Every cat has their unique charms\, and it isn’t hard to guess which one
s our Sweet Pea has. The first time you lay eyes on her\, her soft beauty
will take your breath away—her powder-blue eyes\, her remarkable tabby s
tripes\, and that cute pink nose! Not to mention\, those perfectly round l
ittle cheeks! You won’t be able to take your eyes off her!\nSweet Pea is
an 11-year-old senior girl\, but you wouldn’t be able to guess it. She
’s got energy aplenty for begging for attention and purring like a motor
boat! She would thrive in a quiet home where she can soak up all the love
from her favorite humans. She has diabetes which has been managed wonderfu
lly with treatment\, and needs a family that can help her with a daily ins
ulin shot and weekly blood sugar testing.\nCould Sweet Pea be the perfect
companion for you? This loving girl has been waiting a long time to find h
er forever home… don’t make her wait any longer! Reach out and schedul
e a meet-and-greet!\n\nSweet Pea and other adoptable pets can be seen at h

iting and awe-inspiring harmonization\,” according to Rough Trade.\nThe
Astoria-based trio are slated to release their fourth full-length album
“I’ve Got Sugar\, Who’s My Neighbor?” this fall on Jealous Butcher

the intimacy & energy of their live shows.\nKati and Luke originally met a
s members of the band Blind Pilot (with whom they continue to play)\, and
songs written and gigs played in the downtime between tours formed the see
d of what would become The Hackles. They met Halli when her band River Why
less toured with Blind Pilot in 2016.\nPowerful harmonies & an unconventio
nal and nuanced use of guitar\, violin\, banjo & clarinet combine to creat
e The Hackles compelling and unique brand of folk that lies somewhere betw

Library Friends & Foundation.\nMilitary on the streets and on rooftops. Y
oung people swarming into Seaside. A national crisis brewing as cities eve
rywhere felt the pressures of Civil Rights unrest and the Vietnam War. By
1964\, Seaside was reeling from two years of Labor Day violence that Mayor
Maurice Pysher characterized as a “Holy War” against “lawless\, god
less” youth. Authorities coordinated ”Operation Seaside\,” a massive
security plan involving 100 National Guardsmen and 44 state troopers\, wh
ile moving the popular Pypo Club to a new location to isolate teenagers fr

DESCRIPTION:Class Description:\nThis is an exercise in observation and doc
umenting what you see in a 3D form\, similar to a figure sculpting class.
We will not learn the names of bones or muscles\, nor will we base our han
ds on any general idea of what a hand should look like. The goal of this w
orkshop is to learn how to see what your hand looks like\, how far apart y
our knuckles are\, the exact curve of your thumb\, the different heights a
nd widths of your fingers\, etc… Success in this class is having learned
something\, not in making the perfect hand. \nArtist Bio:\nOriginally fr
om the Pacific Northwest\, Jacqueline (b. 1995) is a Contemporary Artist.
She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 20
26 and her BFA from the School of the Art institute of Chicago in 2022. Ja
cqueline experiences the living water in her material speaking directly to
the water in her body\, guiding her hand to the shape the material wants
to become. Inspired by her upbringing in the pacific northwest\, Jacquelin
e’s practice promotes a harmonious relationship between modern humans an
 d the natural world.

DESCRIPTION:Using the language of cartoons in three dimensional form\, stu
dents would learn to express and convey complicated and often hard to acce
ss concepts through the figure. This would be an all levels course intende
d for anyone interested in making loud and fun figures.\nCeramicist Brian
McNamara uses character-driven narratives to tap into the emotions of a co
mmunal past.  His intentionally cartoonish style\, which draws on the aes
thetics of the animated TV series he remembers from his childhood in the 1
990s\, enables him to talk about serious subjects with nostalgia and humor
.  McNamara received his MFA from the Tyler School of Art and Architectur
e\, PA\, and completed a residency at the Taos Ceramics Center in Taos\, N
 M.  He is based in Chico\, CA\, where he is a Lecturer in Ceramics\, Foun
dations\, and Digital Media at Chico State University.  His work has appe
ared at the American Museum of Ceramic Art (Pomona\, CA)\, LH Horton Jr. G
allery at San Joaquin Delta College (Stockton\, CA)\, and the California C
onference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art (Davis\, CA).
