DESCRIPTION:All Families Are Mad… Not least the Canavans. A drama comed
y with a twist set in the wild West of Ireland. When Colm\, the head of th

and more than one Canavan sibling is harbouring secrets. As the Canavans r
eturn to the family home\, the fate of the family unit\, their sanity and
the Canavan estate all hang in the balance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlending razor-s

 d Gangsters\, Love/Hate)\, Mary Murray (Love/Hate)\, Jed Murray (Love/Hate

DESCRIPTION:Course:The greatest comic opera you’ve probably never heard
or seen is Otto Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor\, an ensemble comed
y from 1849 with a text that closely follows Shakespeare’s play. It over
flows with lyrical Italianate melodies\, boasts a witty\, richly Germanic
orchestration\, and features act finales worthy of Mozart. The many comic
elements are handled with a deftness and charm unequaled by any other Germ
an composer of the era. \n\n\n\nInstructor:Mark Tiarks has given many Rene
san presentations on film\, theater\, classical music\, and opera\, and ha
s won multiple national and state awards for his writing on the same subje
cts for The Santa Fe New Mexican. He’s a Carleton College alumnus and a
 Watson Foundation fellowship recipient.
