DESCRIPTION:I would like to study with you the poems (and letters) of Emil
 y Dickinson\, one of the most inventive and peculiar artists in American h
 istory. We will meet weekly on Wednesdays in Levan Hall 302 from 12:15 p.m
 . to 1:15 p.m.\, and we will start on September 23. You can bring your lun
 ch.\n\nWe will use this text: The Poems of Emily Dickinson: Reading Editio
 n edited by R. W. Franklin. Our bookstore will soon have ten copies on han
 d and three can be borrowed from our library. We will proceed chronologica
 lly through Emily's poems in order to note how her style and subjects deve
 lop over time\; in each meeting we will focus our discussion on no more th
 an two or three poems.\n\nOur first reading: Introduction (pp. 1 - 11)\, p
