Joining the t our will be a naturalist from Monterey Bay Ecotours\; Jane Silberstein\, a Save Our Shores board member and marine scientist who studied the slough during her graduate work and spent 33 years as an interpretive trainer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium\; and Katie Thompson\, Executive Director of S ave Our Shores. \nAfter disembarking\, you will split into smaller groups for two special\, behind-the-scenes experiences. Each group will tour the  Sunflower Star Lab\, which is breaking new ground in raising and reintro ducing sunflower sea stars – a keystone predator of sea urchins – to h elp restore Northern California’s kelp forests following their dramatic decline. You will also receive rare access to a local fossil collection\, a hidden gem in Moss Landing that is not open to the public.
