Museums as informal sites of learning are uniquely positioned to a ddress this need. From presenting awe-inspiring exhibitions and programmin g\, to providing opportunities to engage in visual literacy in our era of fake news\, museums fill a critical role—despite the overall decrease in federal\, state\, and local funding. How can museums navigate this ever-c hanging world\, continue to do more with less\, and fulfill their missions in new and unexpected ways?\n\nGinger Shulick Porcella is a visionary art s leader\, curator\, and nonprofit executive. Currently serving as the Exe cutive Director of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (the MAH)\, Porc ella oversees exhibitions\, community programs\, and the museum’s broade r mission of connecting art\, history\, and local communities.
