ance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom
directly via your Momence dashboard. \nJoin us for this heartfelt and ins
piring session\, where two senior and widely respected Integral Yoga swami
s\, Swamis Ramananda and Asokananda\, will reflect on the teachings and pr
actices that have sustained them over the years. They will also share what
continues to inspire and renew their dedication to the path today.\nThe s
piritual journey is filled with challenges\, and progress can often feel s
low or uncertain. Along the way\, we benefit deeply from the support of fe
llow travelers\, those who have walked this path before us\, who generousl
y share their experience\, and who care enough to walk beside us.\nPlease
bring your heartfelt questions. At least half of the session will be dedic
ated to Q&A. All are welcome.\nSatsang is a special time for us to come to
gether as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat means truth and Sangha means comm
unity. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual t
eachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored often through an inf
ormal discussion. Although our spiritual paths may diverge\, the act of sh
aring spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid fou
 ndation for continued practice.\n\nSwami Ramananda\, C-IAYT\, E-RYT 500\,
is the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco\
, C-IAYT\, and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tra
dition who has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. Ramananda offers pr
actical methods of integrating the timeless teachings and practices of Yog
a into daily life and transforming the painful aspects of human experience
into steps toward realizing one’s full potential.\nHe leads beginner\,
intermediate and advanced-level Yoga teacher training programs in San Fran
cisco and offers a variety of programs in many locations in the U.S.\, Eur
ope and South America. Ramananda co-developed the Stress Management Teache
r Training program with Swami Vidyananda\, has trained many teachers to br
ing Yoga into corporate\, hospital and medical settings\, and has taught m
ind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a certified Yoga thera
pist and founding board member of the Yoga Alliance\, a national registry
that supports and promotes yoga teachers as professionals. He co-founded T
he Spiritual Action Initiative (SAI)\, which brings together individuals c
ommitted to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and
healing of our natural world. His warmth\, wisdom and sense of humor have
endeared him to many. \nSwami Asokananda\, a monk since 1973\, is one of
 Integral Yoga’s foremost teachers\, known for his warmth\, intelligence\
, and good humor. His teaching comes out of his own practice and experienc
e\, since he has absorbed the wisdom of his guru\, Sri Swami Satchidananda
\, since the age of 19. While he enjoys sharing the practical wisdom of th
e Yogic philosophy (especially that of the great Indian scripture the Bhag
avad Gita)\, he also loves his practice of Hatha Yoga and is one of our pr
imary instructors for Intermediate and Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainin
 g. In the past\, he has served as the president of Satchidananda Ashram–
Yogaville® and Integral Yoga® International\; he is currently the Presid

egular: $347 \nThis is an affiliate program\, please register directly via

  sessions. \nRegister here \nFrom Enemy to Ally is a 4-week experiential s
eries integrating psychology and embodied yogic practice for working with
anxiety in daily life.\nRather than approaching anxiety as something to el
iminate\, the series explores it as a meaningful signal that can be unders
 tood\, regulated\, and worked with through awareness\, self-regulation\, a
nd experiential practice.\nA Different Relationship with Anxiety\nMany peo
ple experience anxiety not only during moments of crisis\, but as a subtle
and persistent undercurrent in daily life. \nHealth concerns\, financial
 pressures\, caregiving responsibilities\, changing roles\, and uncertainty
about the future can quietly shape how we think\, feel\, and respond. \nW
hile understanding anxiety can be helpful\, insight alone is often not eno
ugh. The relationship we have with anxiety is also embodied and shaped thr
ough experience over time. \nFrom Enemy to Ally offers a space to move fro
m understanding into practice. \nWhat We’ll Explore\nWe explore how anxi
ety appears in both body and mind—through sensation\, thought patterns\,
emotional responses\, and automatic reactions. \nTogether\, we explore: \
n\nAnxiety as a meaningful signal rather than an enemy\nPhysical and menta
l manifestations of anxiety\nPatterns of reactivity and automatic response
 \nUncertainty\, control\, and internal narratives\nReconnecting with the h
eart and the emotional landscape beneath anxiety\nListening to what feelin
gs may be asking rather than resisting them\nAwareness\, discernment\, and
effective action\n\nCore shift:\nFrom reacting to anxiety → relating to
it as meaningful information \nWhat You’ll Experience\nEach session int
egrates psychological insight with embodied practice.\nSessions include: \
 n\nBreath and regulation practices\nEmbodied awareness exercises\nReflecti
ve inquiry and guided exploration\nPsychological frameworks for understand
ing anxiety\nGroup discussion and shared learning\nPractical tools for dai
ly life integration\n\nBetween sessions\, participants are invited to appl
y practices in daily life and bring real examples into the group process.
\nTo support continuity: \n\nBrief weekly tracking of anxiety patterns\nRe
flection on practice application\nEach week combines learning\, experience
\, and reflection.\n\nWhat Becomes Possible\nThis series does not aim to e
liminate anxiety\, but to support a different relationship with it.\nThrou
gh practice\, participants often notice: \n\nGreater awareness of anxiety
patterns\nIncreased ability to pause before reacting\nMore confidence duri
ng uncertainty and activation\nStronger connection to inner resources and
discernment\nGreater steadiness in daily life\nRather than trying to get r
id of anxiety\, the work supports meeting it with clarity\, choice\, and a
gency.\n\nWho This Series Is For\nThis series is for individuals experienc
ing anxiety in daily life who are interested in working with it more direc
tly. \nIt may be especially relevant for: \n\nHealth professionals\, thera
pists\, and caregivers\nYoga teachers and yoga therapists\nPeople navigati
ng stress\, uncertainty\, or transition\nAnyone seeking a more workable re
lationship with anxiety\n\nNo prior experience is required. \nAttendance t
o all sessions is expected\, as each builds on the previous one. \nNo reco
rdings are provided. Missed Sessions: A private 1:1 make-up session may be

DESCRIPTION:*Online program \nDiscover how Japanese aesthetics invites us
not merely to observe\, but to participate. Through gardens\, architecture
\, ink painting\, Noh theatre\, and the quiet thresholds of traditional ho
mes\, this presentation explores concepts such as yugen (the power of the
unseen)\, ma (meaningful space)\, and michiyuki (the experience of moving
through space). From anime genius Hayao Miyazaki’s imaginative worlds to
  centuries-old ink paintings\, stepping-stone paths\, shōji screens\, and
the changing light on mud walls\, we will consider how Japanese design sl
ows the mind\, softens boundaries between self and surroundings\, and turn
s the viewer into an active co-creator. This visual journey offers both in
spiration and practical insight into creating richer\, more mindful experi
ences of place. \nBeimel and his team at JapanCraft21(opens in new tab) ar

 \n$5-$20 | Enroll for free\, use promo code FREE. \nBook now/OnlinePlease
register in advance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session
\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nThe Fall Equinox ma
rks a point in the Earth’s cycle when day and night are nearly equal in
length—a moment of transition as conditions in nature begin to shift. In
this Satsang\, we’ll use the equinox as an opportunity to examine how w
e respond to shifts unfolding in our world and in our own lives. Grounded
in the wisdom of Yoga and compassionate communication\, the gathering will
include shared reflection\, contemplative inquiry\, and guided practice.
Together\, we’ll explore how yogic principles of nonviolence and truthfu
lness\, along with the cultivation of a calm\, steady mind\, support us in
responding to harm\, conflict\, and upheaval with integrity.\nSatsang is
a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat m
eans truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to co
me together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga
is explored often through an informal discussion. Although our spiritual p
aths may diverge\, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is i
nspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.\nPeople of
all faiths are welcome.\n\nKamala Itzel Hayward was an economic justice a
nd public policy lawyer for over a decade before shifting her focus to wel
 lness\, mindfulness\, and healing. The liberatory\, embodied\, trauma-info
rmed lens she developed across both paths now shapes everything she does.\
nItzel specializes in bringing Yoga and mindfulness to communities directl
y impacted by systemic oppression. She is the founder of the Integral Yoga
Institute’s Scholarship-Based Yoga Teacher Training for Black\, Indigen
ous\, and People of Color. She’s also an Adjunct Professor at UC Law SF\
, where she teaches her students to facilitate equitable group processes t

nication\, or NVC\, offers practical tools for us to practice Karma Yoga
—the path of selfless service. At its most superficial level\, NVC provi
des a framework for speaking with truthfulness (satya) and nonviolence (ah
imsa). However\, NVC is rooted in the understanding that the most direct p
ath to peace is through self-awareness and awareness of our interdependenc
 e. And when our NVC practice becomes well-established\, we release attachm
ent to outcomes and the knowing of our shared humanity awakens.\nIn this w
orkshop\, we explore what it means to give in a way that is selfless and j
oyful—giving that springs not from attachment\, obligation\, or aversion
\, but from the expansive movement of our heart toward another. Through th
is exploration\, we discover the paradox that lies at the center of Karma

rimary scripture of Yoga\, Yoga is defined as a state of being that natura
lly arises when the fluctuations of the mind become still\, revealing our
true nature as peaceful\, whole\, and interconnected. The Yoga Sutras offe
r a practical roadmap for cultivating mental clarity\, emotional balance\,
and spiritual insight through the practice of Yoga as a way of life.\nAs
we engage with these teachings\, we begin to free the mind from ingrained
habits\, conditioned patterns\, and unconscious tendencies that can limit
our growth. Like a seed that must first take root in the earth before it c
an blossom\, the journey inward allows us to awaken to a deeper understand
ing of ourselves. The practice of nirodha—the calming of the mind’s fl
uctuations—reconnects us with the peace\, wisdom\, and wholeness at the
heart of our being and lays out a path toward inner freedom.\nRev. Kalyani

The Bhagavad Gita with Rev. Jaganath Carrera (YLS)\, Intermediate TT (IYI

Kalyani is a spiritual name given to Carlee by Swami Ramananda which signi
fies a state of auspiciousness\, recognizing blessings\, and Being in blis
s\, which she brings into her classes\, along with weaving Raja Yoga into
the practices and into life. “Yoga is a sacred path to inner peace\, rad

DESCRIPTION:The Yoga of Sweetness: Philosophy in Action\nMyth and Metaphys
ics for a Wise and Complete Practice \nJoin Folk Yoga School’s Director
of Education\, Joey Gottlieb\, for a deep dive into some of yoga’s lesse
r known philosophies and stories to investigate new sources of inspiration
and wisdom within the yoga tradition. \nClassical yoga philosophy describ
es a path for ending suffering and finding liberation from life’s trials
. However\, later schools of yoga began to question the idea that life cou
ld be anything but suffering. Instead\, they turned towards finding the sw
eetness and freedom within life itself. Over the course of this experienti
al immersion we’ll explore the complex but elegant system of the tattvas
. These 36 qualities or principles create a “map” of our world and hum
an experience\, both subtle and physical. The tattvas\, as well as the myt
hs and stories behind it\, show us how freedom in yoga can become a practi
ce of sweetening our human lives\, even with their trials. This workshop w
ill be both lecture and practice-based\, using movement\, breath\, and med
itation to bring these teachings into our bodies. During this 15-hour work
shop\, you’ll: \n\nExperience themed practices to create an embodied con
nection between philosophy and physicality.\nUnderstand key differences be
tween yoga’s older philosophies and its newer ones and identify ways in
which yoga is continuously evolving.\nTake a deep dive into the tattvas an
d deepen your understanding of the yoga “cosmos\,” which is essential
to understanding how yoga works as a whole!\nLearn myths within the Hindu
yoga tradition to add meaningful narratives to philosophy and enrich your
personal practice in a culturally honoring way.\nFor teachers\, walk away
with rich philosophical material to apply to your own teachings and theme
inspiring and insightful classes.\n\n  \nThis workshop is open to the pub
lic and to teachers. Current Folk Yoga 300-Hour trainees may take this for
elective credits. This training counts for 15 Yoga Alliance Continuing Ed
 ucation Units. \nDates: \nFri.\, October 23\, 2026 | 6:00-9:00pm\nSat.\, O
