DESCRIPTION:Fall 2026 at Z Below\n(470 Florida St. SF)\nSaturdays\, Sept 5
 \, 12\, 19\, 26 | 10am–12pm\n$200 for all 4 classes \nFor the adventurou
 s\, curious\, playful\, and brave. \nIn this four-session workshop\, stude
nts explore stories\, poems\, and songs through Word for Word’s playful\
, one-of-a-kind performance style\, bringing to life the words of Jack Pre
lutsky\, Sandra Cisneros\, Shel Silverstein\, and more. Along the way\, th
ey’ll build the confidence to dig into literature\, honor an author’s
voice\, and make bold\, imaginative choices\, all while developing the tea
mwork skills that turn any room into a place for adventure and joy. The cl
ass culminates in a casual performance of a story or poem\, chosen from cl
assic and contemporary children’s literature. \nThis is an all-levels cl
ass. Whether your child is new to acting or experienced\, they’ll find W
ord for Word a unique style that’s easy to practice and fun to learn. \n
 Class Details\n 4 classes\, 2 hours each — $200 total (space is limit
 ed)\n Ages 9–12\n Saturdays\, 10am–12pm\, Sept 5–26\n Analy
 ze literature through Who\, What\, When\, Where\, and Why\n Build core
 acting skills: public speaking\, teamwork\, decision-making\n Express c
haracter through adjectives and action through verbs\n Work as an ensem
ble to help bring an author’s voice to life \nWhat is the “Word for Wo
rd Style”?\n We bring books to life onstage\, word for word. Plays are w
ritten for the stage\, but stories and poems are written to be imagined\,
so performing them challenges young actors to stay emotionally flexible an
d inventive\, following the author wherever the words go\, sometimes all i
n one paragraph. \nPlay is how we grow. Come play\, create\, and grow with
  Word for WordPLAY.

DESCRIPTION:Creativity Explored is pleased to present Drawn Together\, a g
roup exhibition celebrating human connection and the expressive power of a
 n artist’s line. \nFeaturing works in a variety of media\, the exhibitio
 n explores gatherings of figures\, including friends\, families\, teams\,
bandmates\, dancers\, revelers\, and partners in arms. Through visions of
their shared joy\, love\, and camaraderie\, these works reflect humanity
’s need for connection and belonging. \nWhether capturing moments of fes
tive celebration or quiet solidarity\, the artists in Drawn Together emplo
y diverse means to depict how figures relate to one another. Throughout th
e exhibition\, line work operates as both a structural and emotional force
. In some cases\, minimal marks anchor compositions with deliberate clarit
y\, while loose\, radiating strokes energize others\, capturing an electri
c vitality that unites the figures. \nAcross the exhibition\, communal mom
ents are variously framed by sparsely described\, richly patterned\, or vi
sually dense environments\, ranging from the local supermarket to the athl
etic field\, and from the dance floor to the family dining table. Connecti
on is often established through physical touch\, coordinated movement\, an
d a sharing of mutual passions and talents. Whether capturing singular mom
ents in time or layered\, multi-temporal narratives\, the exhibition offer
s a heartfelt tribute to the ties that bring us together. \nCurated by Aur

DESCRIPTION:All-ages\, $5-$15 notaflof \nWe Micromanage Infinity\nAbsorbed
in modular synth tangles\, software snarls\, and engrossed with toy noise
makers and birdcalls\, audience eye contact can be hard to come by when th
is supertrio of Blevin Blectum\, James Goode and Thomas Dimuzio take the s
tage. There’s no time for guitarface or elvis presley moves when you are
fine tuning minutae of the infinite miasma. Humans are not mimetic\, as t
he paypal antichrist preaches to his brownshirts. No\, we are strapped int
o the multiverse\, inimitable puppets of fate that can only be steered by
simulataneous tugs on our innumerable attachments. It’s down to us\, we
storm-tossed action figures of flesh and juice\, to thrash\, dance\, kung
fu grip\, and scream ourselves into that tangle\, even as we stare into th
e impassive face of three micromanaging furies. Like all beauty\, it’s g
 rim.\nhttps://thomasdimuzio.bandcamp.com/track/gnomon \n\nDJ Female Convic
 t Scorpion\n“DJ” as in Shadow\, Marclay\, Oswaldian Plunderphonics\, t
he term denotes an art of turntablism\, or it should! With a rich history
of sampling particularly in the Bay Area from Bob Ostertag\, Negativland\,
Culturcide\, Invisibl Skratch Piklz and S*Glass right up to the present w
ith Evicshen and Julia Mazawa. Those who know this lineage treasure the la
rcenies of Josh Pollock who harvests the most sinister sources. His music
is indistinguishable from a seance where you’re related to the ghosts th
rough cinema\, psych\, freejazz and philosophy. He plays in psychedelic or
chestras like Daevid Allen’s University Of Errors but there he wields gu
itar whereas sampling affords him the widest palette of sound\, concept an
d style\, where his wraithic collaborators include Grace Jones\, The Skate
rs\, Alan Watts\, Scott Walker and Sammy Davis Jr but also the coolest and
scariest characters in film. It’s a tremendous ability to pull from suc
h varied sources without ending up scattered or tangled. Pollock does it w
ith speed\, showing us through the darkest funniest alleys of the briar pa
tch. As with the eponymous prisoner herself\, spurn this exploited side-ey
ed killer only at your peril.\nhttps://joshpollock.bandcamp.com/album/conf
 ucius-milton-berle \nShatter Pattern\nThrough sound\, dance\, costumed com
putation\, and visualization Jules Litman-Cleper blazes spidering trails a
cross fragile shells\, divining the wells of survivable life and showing u
s to the bathy froth of time that predates vision. Human eyes are like egg
s\, born with a startle from the primordial chicken they’re made to trac
e sharp edges. So the clarity of vision lends itself to quantification\, i
mmediacy\, violence. But the chicken had to cum first\, or why survive? Vi
bration precedes sight\, desire precedes survival and the world was always
more than quantifiable surface\, more fun than fear\, where shatter prece
des pattern. \n\nRon Heglin & Lorin Benedict\nWe have met the alien and it
always has been us\, prentending at a unified species while clinging to c
ultural norms\, none more fundamental than speech. Surely you’ve had pho
nemes lock you out before\, words for a time refusing their common signifi
cation. You find your brain left all on its own\, verging and tussling wit
h sounds the way a river wrestles rapids. And what if another voice were t
o wade into that solipsistic cataract? A doubled language would arise as s
pring geyser\, the way all language did. When are sounds words and words s
ounds? All the time! Computational condensed-matter physicist Lorin Benedi
ct and virtuoso trombomist Ron Heglin are two stunning masters of a rare y
et shared ability: To hoist the rules and strictures of logos high above i
n order to dump them over our heads onto wherever the floor used to be. He
aring them live is a miracle not to be missed. These alien facedancers of
Dune have performed with the likes of Steve Coleman\, Wadada Leo Smith\, J
ack Wright\, Tom Nunn\, Sam Ospovat\, Tom Djll\, all while surviving the B
aron Harkonnen. Climb out from your alien tank and slither quickly to the
Peacock Lounge by 8pm to learn some truly new songs\, all-ages welcome!\nh
