DESCRIPTION:Safe streets and a walkable San Francisco aren’t possible wi
thout frequent\, reliable public transportation. \nBut right now Muni\, BA
RT\, and other transit agencies around the Bay Area face a fiscal crisis u
nlike any we’ve seen. \nThis means if we don’t pass the two transit fu
nding measures on the November 3 ballot – Measures H and RTM –  trans
it service will be decimated and we’ll have tens of thousands more vehic
les on our streets. \nThat’s why Walk SF is hosting phone banking at our
office in the Mission (and providing dinner!) in support of Measure RTM o
 n Thursday\, September 10 and Monday\, October 19 from 5PM – 8PM. \nRSVP
HERE \nMeasure RTM is a measure to fund transit agencies across five cou
nties: San Francisco\, Alameda\, Contra Costa\, San Mateo\, and Santa Clar
 a. It’s a sales tax (1 cent in San Francisco) set to last fourteen years
\, and it would fund transit operations\, rider-focused investments like f
ree transfers\, accessibility improvements\, and transit priority infrastr
ucture. Learn more at Connect Bay Area.
