DESCRIPTION:Many rare plant and animal species live on Sign Hill’s nativ
 e grasslands\, including the endangered mission blue butterfly. Help us co
 nserve and restore their habitat by installing native plants and removing 
 invasive plants! Sign Hill Stewards will do important work while also lear
 ning more about the wildlife in their backyard. \n  \nWhen: Every other 
 Friday from 9am-12pm and the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9am-12pm. Onl
 y cancelled for heavy rains. \nWhere: Volunteers will park at the Sign Hi
 ll Parking Lot nearby 964 Ridgeview Ct\, South San Francisco\, CA (Google 
 Maps Link) and hike with staff to the restoration site. \nRegistration: R
 egistration is required. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a youth 
 waiver signed by a parent/guardian. Youth under the age of 15 are welcome 
 and must be accompanied by an adult. \nWhat to bring: To prepare for work
 ing outdoors\, please bring work gloves\, plenty of water\, sturdy shoes\,
  long pants and sleeves\, a hat/sunscreen\, and a completed waiver for e

 This is a relaxed two-night backpacking trip at Castle Rock State Park\, i
 deal for beginner backpackers or anyone looking for a low-mileage weekend 
 outdoors.\n\nWe'll hike about 2.6 miles from the main parking area to Cast
 le Rock Trail Camp via the Saratoga Gap Trail. The route is short\, but ex
 pect normal backpacking conditions\, including uneven and rocky sections w
 hile carrying your own gear. Once at camp\, we'll have plenty of time to s
 ettle in\, relax\, and explore the nearby trails\, sandstone formations\, 
 forest\, and ridge views.\n\nThe trail camp has picnic tables\, vault toil
 ets\, trash receptacles. **Please carry all the water you'll need. The wat
 er source at the camp is not functional.**\n\nPlease respond to all questi
 ons when you RSVP. This will be a small group\, and your spot is confirmed
  only after you receive a confirmation from me. Please be specific if you 
 can only attend with a carpool.\n\n**Dates:** Friday\, September 18 to Sun
 day\, September 20\n**Trail:** \\~5.2 miles minimum round trip\, with opti
 onal exploring from camp\n**Plan:** Two nights at Castle Rock Trail Camp\,
  relaxed pace\, nearby hiking\, and camp time\n**Difficulty:** Easy/Modera
 te backpacking\, but you must be able to carry your own overnight gear ove
 r uneven trail. Especially water for couple of days.\n**Group size:** Smal
 l group\; park limit is 6 people per campsite\n**Parking:** One overnight 
 vehicle is included. We'll coordinate carpools because extra vehicles cost
  $10 per night. Overnight parking is only in the designated trail-camp lot
 \, with check-in at the Robert C. Kirkwood entrance\n**Trip Cost:** 10$ pe
 r person for the whole trip\n**Trip confirmation:** Your participation is 
 confirmed after you have answered the pre-req questions\, made the payment
 \, and received a confirmation from me\n\nYou'll need your own backpacking
  gear\, food\, water\, and the 10 essentials. We must reach camp before su
 nset. No dogs\, smoking\, or bikes on the trail. Cell service is likely un
 available in the backcountry.\n\nAs always - respect the wilderness\, foll
 ow Leave No Trace principles\, and use good trail etiquette. If you're unf
 amiliar with Leave No Trace\, please read up on it before the trip.\n\nIND
