n\nIzzy Beauchesne\, known professionally as De Izzy\, is a Salt Lake City
–based mixed media artist and SLCC student whose work explores memory\,
family\, sustainability\, and the natural cycle of life. Through immersive
sculptural installations\, such as her series Archive in the Wild\, she t
ransforms discarded objects into living archives that invite reflection an
d connection. \n\n \n\nHer practice began in childhood creating fairy hous
es from fallen palm fronds with her mother and building miniature sets for
stop-motion animation. After moving to Utah\, she became one of Dreamscap
es’ primary artists and its Volunteer Director\, discovering the possibi
lities of immersive installation art while deepening her commitment to sus
tainability.\n\n \n\nBeauchesne’s perspective on mortality was profoundl

atural part of life’s continuum\, her installations—featuring skeleton

ance and enduring generational bonds\, inviting viewers to reflect on thei

DESCRIPTION:Campus Locations: ZoomCampus Wide Event: YesThe University of
Utah Corporate & Foundation Relations Office is hosting a virtual campus i
nformation session about Humanity AI’s new $10 million Open Call\, whic
h invites U.S.-based organizations (including universities) to apply for f
unding that supports communities’ collective power to shape how AI is bu
ilt\, governed\, and used. Join colleagues from across campus to learn mo
re about the opportunity\, explore potential project fit\, connect with ot
hers who may have complementary interests and expertise\, and discuss cons
iderations for developing competitive applications. Tuesday\, September 2
2 at 4–5 pm MTVirtual via Zoom: https://utah.zoom.us/j/84079282470No RS
VP or passcode requiredThe Open Call will provide grants of $75\,000 to $
1 million for up to three years for community-led efforts focused on: Ed
ucation: Shaping AI around the best interests of students\, educators\, a
nd communities.Labor and economy: Ensuring AI enhances\, rather than repl
aces\, workers and contributes to an economy in which people can thrive.Hu
manities\, arts\, and culture: Enhancing human creativity and understandi
ng while protecting the work of artists and creators.Within these areas\,
proposed projects should take one or more of three approaches: shaping ho
w AI is governed and used\; building AI on community terms\; or challengin
g AI that does not serve communities. Humanity AI is particularly interes
ted in efforts where those most affected by AI are defining the goals\, sh
aping the approach\, and driving the work. Projects focused primarily on A
I literacy\, encouraging adoption of AI tools\, or research without a mean
ingful community leadership and action component are outside the scope of
the call.A central emphasis of the call is community-led work\, meaning t
hat those most affected by technological changes are defining the goals\,
shaping the approach\, and driving the work. Depending on the issue area\,
  this could include students and educators\, workers\, artists\, writers\,
scholars\, cultural heritage workers\, and organizations representing the
se communities.Initial applications are due October 21\, 2026\, by 6 pm MT
.Please contact Lynn Wong or Jenna Taylor if you have any questions or

DESCRIPTION:Kiwi singer/songwriter Hannah Harding\, better known by her no
m de plume Aldous Harding\, first drew praise for the gothic indie folk an
d stark emotionality of her 2015 debut that brought about comparisons to b
oth  and . Later outings like Party (2017)\, Designer (2019)\, and Warm
Chris (2022) adopted a more off-kilter indie pop approach that evoked nam

Harding\, and it was on her Tui Farm Folk Festival-winning record Clean Br

rly foray into the music business\, the young Harding had no interest in p
ursuing a career as a musician\, believing it to be a precarious existence
. Just a couple years later\, she began to let go of her dreams of becomin
