 and friendly competition at Mountain West Cider’s weekly songwriter show
 case.\nWhether you’re stepping up to perform or settling in with a cider
  to cheer on local artists\, this is a chance to experience some of the be
 st original songwriting in the Salt Lake music community.\nFor Performers:
 \nSongwriter check-in and sign-up runs from 7:30–7:50 PM. The competitio
 n begins promptly at 8:00 PM.\nRound One (8:00–9:00 PM):\nEach songwrite
 r performs one original song.\nPerformances are scored based on:\n• Prof
 essionalism\n• Musicality\n• Lyrics\n• Audience response\nThe top fo
 ur performers advance to round two.\nRound Two (9:00–10:00 PM):\nFinalis
 ts perform either:\n• Two original songs or\n• One original song and o
 ne cover\nAt the end of the night\, a winner and a runner-up will be annou
 nced.\nMonthly Finals + Residency Opportunity:\nEach weekly winner advance
 s to compete on the last Tuesday of the month for a chance to earn a Mount
 ain West Cider residency (a weekly featured performance series).\nDuring t
 he monthly finals\, the top two performers will be selected for residency 
 spots.\nResidency winners will perform at Mountain West Cider on Thursday 
 evenings throughout the following month.\nTie Breaker:\nIn the event of a 
 tie\, the performer who brings the largest audience that remains for the d
 uration of the event will be awarded the higher placement.\nFor Guests:\nC
 ome support local songwriters\, discover new music\, and enjoy hard cider 
 and wine while our ciderhouse turns into an intimate listening room for th
 e night.\nDoors open at 7:30 PM\nShow starts at 8:00 PM
