 test.”\n\n \n\nAbout the Event\n\nThe event will feature remarks from An
 tonio Cruz Díaz\, Acting Consul of Mexico in Salt Lake City\; Luis Novoa\
 , Director of Artes de México en Utah\; and James Walton\, representing S
 alt Lake Community College.\n\nDuring the ceremony\, winners of both compe
 titions will be recognized\, and the seventh edition of the LatinArte Nues
 tras Raíces exhibition will officially open. The exhibition will remain o
 n display at the Eccles Art Gallery from August 13 through September 25\, 
 2026.\n\n\nAbout LatinArte Nuestras Raíces\n\nLatinArte Nuestras Raíces 
 2026 showcases the work of 37 Latino artists residing in Utah and western 
 Wyoming.\n\nThe exhibition includes paintings\, sculptures\, and textile a
 rtworks by Abel Adame\, Pablo Ayala\, Daniella Ortiz\, Alejandra Quechol\,
  Luis Canelón\, and other distinguished artists.\n\nThe exhibition celebr
 ates Latin American art as a living expression of our cultural roots and h
 ighlights the important role the Latino community plays in strengthening U
 tah’s artistic and cultural landscape.\n\n\nAbout the Sor Juana Poetry C
 ompetition\n\nNow in its fourteenth edition\, the Sor Juana Poetry Writing
  Competition continues to promote and celebrate literary talent in Spanish
  throughout Utah.\n\n \n\nDuring the ceremony\, the winning works will be 
 presented\, reflecting the creativity and legacy of Sor Juana Inés de la 
 Cruz\, one of the most influential figures in Mexican literature.\n\nThe c
 ompetition provides an important platform for individuals who write and cr
 eate in Spanish\, the second most widely spoken language in Utah. Particip
 ants often draw inspiration from themes such as social justice\, identity\
 , nature\, memory\, emotion\, culture\, history\, and reflections on life 
 and death.\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public. Community member
 s are warmly invited to join this celebration of Latino art\, literature\,
  and cultural identity.
