 riters\, some with years of experience\, disparate backgrounds and ages\, 
 from across borders and boundaries stitching a tapestry of this country’
 s immigrants and First People together\, not into a “melting pot” but 
 rather as “WE the People” each one of us carrying a significant thread
  of culture and history woven into a serendipitous patchwork.\nThis anthol
 ogy contains personal definitions and questions: What is freedom and what 
 do we expect from it? Freedom may seem like a clear-cut concept but it has
  become an ongoing exploration as expansive as billions of people with dis
 tinct points of view. For what is freedom if not a personal concept of lif
 e and how to live in this world.\n\nThe Salem Poetry Project continues at 
 the Bush Barn Annex\, 600 Mission St SE\, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn
  and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is ju
 st to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured rea
 der followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever i
 s first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly fol

DESCRIPTION:April 30 through June 11 the Salem Poetry Project will be temp
 orarily housed at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel near the Oregon Sta
 te Capitol\, 770 Chemeketa St NE. Their parking lot is one-way\, with the 
 entrance on Chemeketa St and the exit on Court St. There is also a fair am
 ount of street parking. Enter through the west entrance\, the one that fa
 ces the parking lot and YMCA. Each week will present a featured reader fol
 lowed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first
 . Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. Fo
