DESCRIPTION:Artist Talk: Wednesday\, Sept. 23\, 11-12PM H101 (23 Essex Str
 eet)\nClosing Reception: Sat.\, Oct. 3rd\, 12-2PM (301 Cabot Street)\n  \
n“War-birds & adverts dance across my screen – like the birds of parad
ise. \nMechanical marvels of stolen avian secrets. Ailerons and fuselage.
\nTheir hollow bones will be broken and poisoned by beasts created in thei
 r image.” \n

-Campbell McLean \n  \nCampbell McLean explores her queer-American
  experience by creating caricaturist paintings\, objects\, installations\,
and videos. From oil on canvas\, papier-mâché to found object\, McLean
’s unique aesthetic approach shines through in her sporadic ‘make-due
’ energy that flows seamlessly between 2D and 3D forms. The resulting wo
rks are immersive and modular series and installations that read as both s
 pecific and universalizing\, personal and relatable. \n  \nIn War-Birds &
Adverts\, the artist’s installation for the 301 Frame Gallery\, McLean
incorporates themes of patriotism\, camp\, nostalgia\, and caricature as a
generalized and vague criticism of the time and space we are living in no
 w. Campbell’s use of humor and the appropriation of a thinly veiled spec
tacle\, seek to critique a multitude of cultural and contemporary concerns
 \, including\, isolation\, screen time\, self-commodification\, sloganeeri
 ng\, sex\, death\, war\, ‘the art market’. As McLean comments\, “Can
I really not talk about that terrible ‘thing’ at an institutional gal
lery?” How are the birds doing? Didn’t you hear?! It’s all for sale!
  Call my gallerist! 978 495 6697. \n  \nCampbell-Lynn McLean is a Boston-
based artist and a 2022 graduate from the Massachusetts College of Art and
Design (MassArt) BFA program. McLean is currently pursuing her MFA in pai
nting at Boston University\, Class of 2027. She has received numerous awar
ds and scholarships in recognition of her works\, including the Stephen D.
Paine Scholarship in 2021\, the George Nick Award in 2022\, and the Josep
h Ablow Memorial Prize in 2026. Since 2024\, she has presented a solo exhi
bition\, included in three group exhibitions\, and two art fairs with LaiS
 un Keane\, Boston\, MA.

yson Christopher\, Christine Gauthier-Kelley\, Sue Niemi\, Leslie Pearlman
\nFour Voices in Silk presents a vibrant and colorful array of hand-paint
ed silk works by four expert silk artists of Ten Pound Studio\, Gloucester
whose practices are rooted in the preservation and continuation of origin
al silk-painting techniques. \nWorking directly on silk with traditional r
esist and dye methods\, these four artists bring distinct artistic voices
to a richly expressive medium. Together\, these Ten Pound Studio artists f
orm a unique collective in the United States dedicated to practicing and p
reserving the original serti steam-set techniques of hand-painted silk. Th
eir work represents a rare repository of specialized knowledge\, craftsman
ship\, and skill in original design and hand-painted silk techniques. \nTh
e exhibition reveals the remarkable versatility of silk as an art form\, f
eaturing elegant wearable art\, wall displays\, decorative works\, and hom
e décor. Each piece demonstrates the luminous color\, fluid movement\, in
tricate pattern\, and extraordinary depth that can emerge when dye and sil
k meet through the hands of a skilled artist. \nAt its heart\, Four Voices
in Silk is a celebration of both tradition and individual expression. Whi
le the artists share a commitment to traditional technique\, each brings a
distinctive visual language and creative perspective to the medium. The r
esult is an exhibition that honors the history of silk painting while demo
nstrating its vitality as a contemporary art form. \nThe Exhibition will b
e on view at Montserrat College of Art from August 20 through September 24
\, 2026.  The Opening Celebration and Sale of wearable arts will be held
on September 8\, 6-8 pm. \nA Public Forum and Sale will take place on Sept
ember 11\, offering visitors an opportunity to learn more about the artist
s\, their techniques\, and the importance of preserving this specialized a
rt form. Student opportunities to explore silk painting firsthand will als
o be offered\, with classes and workshops to be announced. \nFour Voices i
n Silk invites audiences to experience the beauty of silk not simply as a
 material\, but as a living artistic tradition—where color\, craftsmanshi
p\, technique\, and four individual voices come together.

DESCRIPTION:Speechifying\, Shakespeare\, & Sea Shanties! Every week\, we
stand on Burlington Mall Road with signs\, costumes and flags. We come ou
t to show support for our immigrant neighbors\, express our shame at ICE\,
and build community in opposition to the cruel and unconstitutional actio
ns of our government. We are there to tell the world that there is a ICE C
ONCENTRATION CAMP just two blocks away.  \nWe are not there merely to mak
e propaganda against ICE. We are there to make propaganda against fear. \n
Every car that honks in support as they pass is in a small way joining the
Resistance. Many who honk may be expressing themselves against ICE terror
for the first time. This breaks the ice\, and makes it easier for them to
take the next steps. It helps them help others to overcome their fear. W
e are there to cause a ripple effect. To fight against the terror visited
on immigrants\, we need to fight against our own internalized terror. We h
ave nothing to fear. We are America\, fighting back. If you REGISTER by FR
IDAY\, you will be notified of cancellations by email. All events held ra

DESCRIPTION:This a local Indivisible event! \nJoin us on Saturdays 12pm-2p
m to Stand Out and Up with your signs of protest and support. As a small a
nd passionate community\, this high visibility location is very impactful
and fulfilling. Meet fellow citizens to join your voice in Solidarity and
for Justice. \nHosted by: Hopkinton resident\, a small and growing group o
f local and concerned Massachusetts citizens who live in Hopkinton and sur
rounding towns. Our mission is to build trust and relationships between lo
cal communities as we face the growing risks of: \nRising authoritarianism
\, bigotry and hate. The erosion of civil liberties - no due process. The
worsening economy with fewer jobs. Climate change and health crisis. \nRem
ember to bring water and hat It gets hot out here! \nIt's best to park aro
und The Common to then stand at the Spirit of the Boston Marathon Statue &
  Start Line\, 93 East Main Street\, Hopkinton. \nHere are some important g
round rules. We cannot disrupt traffic. Please stay out of the street\, an
d always use crosswalks. This is a peaceful protest. If someone becomes ag
gressive towards one of us\, we should all be ready to de-escalate the sit
uation (don't respond to the aggressor\, walk away and if necessary\, get
support from the Hopkinton Police). Please look out for each other. The Ho
pkinton Police has been notified of event\, and they support our right to
PEACEFULLY protest. Thank you. \nA core principle behind all Indivisible
events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to
seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree w
ith our values. \n\nPLEASE SIGN UP HERE FOR THE EVENT
