DESCRIPTION:SACRAMENTO\, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (
 SacRT) will temporarily suspend Blue Line light rail service between City 
 College Station and Florin Station from Friday\, September 11 through Wedn
 esday\, September 30\, 2026. This closure will allow construction crews to
  complete essential platform upgrades at 47th Avenue Station and shelter a
 djustments at Fruitridge Station as part of SacRT’s ongoing Light Rail M
 odernization Project. During the construction window\, tracks in the work 
 zone will be impassable\, and SacRT will operate a bus bridge to ensure ri
 ders can continue traveling through the affected area. Regular Blue Line s
 ervice will resume on Thursday\, October 1\, 2026. The temporary suspensio
 n is necessary to safely raise station platforms by eight inches to meet h
 eight requirements for the new low-floor Siemens S700 trains. These system
 s improvements will make boarding faster and easier for all riders\, parti
 cularly seniors\, individuals with disabilities\, families with strollers\
 , and passengers using mobility devices. Bus Bridge Service (September 11
 –30)Shuttle buses will operate between City College and Florin stations 
 during all hours normal light rail service is offered. Riders can transfer
  between trains and shuttle buses to continue traveling north or south on 
 the Blue Line. Riders should allow extra travel time as buses operate in m
 ixed traffic. Light Rail Service During Construction Blue Line trains will
  operate normally in the north area between Watt/I‑80 Station and City C
 ollege Station.Blue Line trains will operate normally in the south area be
 tween Florin Station and Cosumnes River College Station.Shuttle buses will
