DESCRIPTION:The American Heart Association’s BLS course trains participa
 nts to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies\, give high
 -quality chest compressions\, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations
 \, and provide early use of an AED. The course reflects science and educat
 ion from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emerge
 ncy Cardiovascular Care (ECC).\n\n\nWho should take this course?\nThe Amer
 ican Heart Association’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professio
 nals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other bas
 ic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and
  out-of-hospital settings.\n\n\nWhat does this course teach?\n•    High-
 quality CPR for adults\, children\, and infants\n•    BLS concepts from 
 the Chain of Survival\n•    Delivering effective breaths or ventilations
 \n•    Importance of early use of and how to use an AED\n•    Performa
 nce as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR\n•    Relief of 
 foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults\, children\, and infa
 nts\n\n\nInitial certification and recertification of healthcare providers
 \nUpon successful completion of the course\, students receive an AHA BLS P
 rovider course completion card\, valid for two years.\n\nCost: $80 for the
  course\, plus $19 for the optional manual. Payment by cash\, check\, cred
 it card\, or 312 Requisition is accepted. Medical students at the Universi
 ty of Rochester have the course fee waived\, but are responsible for the c
 ost of the manual.\n\nNote: If you're over 15 minutes late to the course\,
  both entry and refunds will be denied. You will need to register and pay 
 for a new course.
