You’ll learn to think like an artist\, get curio us\, ask questions\, and play — all while learning how to draw. We start with an overview of botanical art and learn about the benefits drawing pr ovides for the brain and our physiology. Drawing habits and dealing with t he inner critic are also discussed. \nUsing pencil marks on paper\, partic ipants explore sketchbook work\, basic line qualities\, light on forms\, a nd transforming reality into three-dimensional illusions. Robertson\ , Jr. Associate Professor of Civil War History in the History Department a t Virginia Tech\, where he also serves as Director of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies and Director of the Center for Humanities.
