DESCRIPTION:Twinkle\, Twinkle\, Little Star is an interactive children’
s theatre piece for very young audiences\, performed by two Star Keepers n
amed Glimmer and Sparkle. \nIt’s time for the night sky to fill with sta
rs\, but one important star — Little Star\, the wishing star — is miss
ing because Sparkle rushed through putting the stars away the previous mor
ning and muddled everything up. \nWhat follows is a search-and-rescue adve
nture as the two star keepers (and the audience) hunt for Little Star\, di
scovering along the way that all the other stars have been put in the wron
g places too and need to be moved to their proper place.  Audience member
s help the Star Keepers find and re-organize the sky just in time for nigh
tfall so that everyone can make a wish on their favorite star. \nTwinkle\,
Twinkle explores the ideas that mistakes happen\, feelings are valid\, a
nd no one has to face hard things alone – all wrapped up in a genuinely
joyful romp about stars. \n  \nBy Ernie Nolan \nProduced by special arran
gement with Plays for New Audiences \nDialogue complexity: conversations
are short but use more vocabulary than some other shows\; performers also
use physical actions\, props\, music\, and songs to tell the story. \nWhat
is Theatre for the Very Young? \nTheatre for the Very Young (TVY) is thea
tre designed for ages zero through five to support their cognitive develop
ment. The purpose of TVY is to support our youngest audience members in en
gaging with creative play\, introducing them to narrative storytelling\, a
nd exploring social and emotional learning in a fun and approachable way.
TVY is designed to be sensory friendly and an open space for movement\, vo
calization\, and exploration! \nPre-show activities! \nAudiences are invit
ed to arrive 30 minutes prior to each showtime (when the “house” opens
 ) to participate in a free pre-show activity\, coordinated by RLT’s educ
 ation department.

DESCRIPTION:FEATURING\n\nLaToya Lain\, soprano\n\n \n\nPROGRAM\n\nA powerf
ul presentation by soprano LaToya Lain that examines the issue of slavery
by combining musical performance with spoken narrative accounts. About the
project\, Lain says\, “In 2003\, HBO presented a documentary entitled
‘Unchained Memories’ about the stories of former slaves interviewed du
ring the 1930s’ Federal Writers’ Project. As I read the print version
of these slave narratives and later watched the documentary\, I began to s
ee how the stories of these men and women are told through the Negro Spiri
tuals. I saw the direct relationship of some of my favorite spirituals and
the life stories of remarkable slave women\, whose names\, if not for the
se narratives\, we would have never known. I was inspired to take these na
rratives and combine them with concert arranged Negro Spirituals to tell t
he story of one former slave woman through song.”\n\n \n\nPARKING\n\nPle

DESCRIPTION:The night before Halloween\, Memorial Hall transforms into som
ething unsettling and mysterious. \n\n \n\nBefore the performance even beg
ins\, audiences are invited to enter BARDO\, a haunting\, liminal place be
tween death and rebirth. Come dressed in your Halloween finest and venture
through spaces rarely open to audiences. Eerie installations. Strange enc
ounters. Unsettling imagery. Around every corner\, the sense that somethin
g is waiting—and watching—just out of sight. North Carolina performers
bring this dreamscape to life to create an experience that haunts long af
ter the night is over. \n\n \n\nThe journey culminates with BLACK LODGE\,
a dark Lynchian goth-rock opera about a tormented writer trapped in the ni
ghtmarish Bardo\, where he is forced to confront the darkest moment of his
life again and again. Through the blending of music\, theater\, and film\
, the performance explores what it means to reckon with the worst thing yo
u have ever done. Together\, the two experiences create an evening that fe
els less like attending a traditional performance and more like stepping i
nto a collective late-night fever dream. Enter if you dare. \n\n \n\n*This
two-part event begins with BARDO at 7 p.m.\, followed by BLACK LODGE at 9
p.m. A single ticket includes both experiences.\n\n \n\n*Get in on the sp

\n\nIn DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME\, STREB performers—called “Action Hero

th split-second timing and fearless precision. Audiences gasp\, laugh\, te
nse up\, and wonder how what they’re seeing is even possible.\n\n \n\nFo
under Elizabeth Streb has been called the Evel Knievel of dance\, a thrill

Action Mechanics—in Brooklyn\, where her company has spent decades deve
loping a movement practice called PopAction: a fusion acrobatics\, rodeo\,
dance and athletics\, rooted in a lifelong obsession with what happens to
the human body when it is fully\, fearlessly committed to motion. Her phi
losophy: “Anything too safe is not action.”\n\n \n\nThe company transf
