 ing because Sparkle rushed through putting the stars away the previous mor

 nture as the two star keepers (and the audience) hunt for Little Star\, di
 scovering along the way that all the other stars have been put in the wron
 g places too and need to be moved to their proper place.  Audience member
 s help the Star Keepers find and re-organize the sky just in time for nigh
 tfall so that everyone can make a wish on their favorite star. \nTwinkle\,
  Twinkle explores the ideas that mistakes happen\, feelings are valid\, a
 nd no one has to face hard things alone – all wrapped up in a genuinely

  project\, Lain says\, “In 2003\, HBO presented a documentary entitled 
 ‘Unchained Memories’ about the stories of former slaves interviewed du
 ring the 1930s’ Federal Writers’ Project. As I read the print version 
 of these slave narratives and later watched the documentary\, I began to s
 ee how the stories of these men and women are told through the Negro Spiri
 tuals. I saw the direct relationship of some of my favorite spirituals and
  the life stories of remarkable slave women\, whose names\, if not for the
 se narratives\, we would have never known. I was inspired to take these na
 rratives and combine them with concert arranged Negro Spirituals to tell t

  through spaces rarely open to audiences. Eerie installations. Strange enc

 g is waiting—and watching—just out of sight. North Carolina performers
  bring this dreamscape to life to create an experience that haunts long af
 ter the night is over. \n\n \n\nThe journey culminates with BLACK LODGE\, 
 a dark Lynchian goth-rock opera about a tormented writer trapped in the ni
 ghtmarish Bardo\, where he is forced to confront the darkest moment of his
  life again and again. Through the blending of music\, theater\, and film\
 , the performance explores what it means to reckon with the worst thing yo
 u have ever done. Together\, the two experiences create an evening that fe
 els less like attending a traditional performance and more like stepping i
