Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU \nJim Hodges’ Unearthed (a work in progress
) is a monumental bronze cast of an uprooted tree stump. The truncated fo
rm resonates with majesty while also serving as a mournful reminder of hum

anied by rites of faith\, musical performances\, and readings\, as well a

nearthed has its second residency at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art a

ity an occasion to approach the work through intentional participation. \n
Join us for a special performance series with Unearthed this fall 2026\, i
ncluding music\, readings\, and dance. On Wednesday\, September 23 School
of Music faculty member Ruth Boden responds to Unearthed through cello ins
trumentation and spoken word. Drop in anytime between 12:00-1:00pm for thi
