DESCRIPTION:The Hidden Happiness Tour\nwith Ani Choyang from Jangchub Choe
ling\nat Maitripa College and online\nPlease take advantage of this rare o
pportunity!  Join in person or online for any of the talks (no online acc
ess for the retreat). Details and registration links are below.  NOTE:
The Registration process for the onsite events and for online access via Z
oom is the same. \n\nThe Mind’s Potential: Dream Yoga and Contemplative
 Science\n(format: afternoon/evening conversation\, moderated)\nFriday\, Se
ptember 18\, 6pm-7:30pm (PT)\nThis talk turns toward the mind itself\, ask
ing how far its capacities may extend. The nuns bring dream yoga and other
contemplative practices into conversation with what contemplative science
has begun to confirm about awareness\, attention\, and change\; along the
way\, the talk opens onto the themes at the heart of Maitripa’s year: a
nger\, anxiety\, and death\, and the buddha nature that underlies all thre
 e. Attendees leave with a broader sense of what a trained mind can do\, an
d a preview of where the year ahead will lead. \nRegister Here \n\nADDITI
 ONAL EVENTS IN THIS SERIES:\nTransforming Anger\, Anxiety\, and Death\n(fo
 rmat: afternoon/evening talk\, moderated)\nSunday\, September 20\, 11am-12
 :30pm (PT)\nFew things touch every life as directly as anger\, anxiety\, a
nd the fact of death\; this talk meets all three head-on\, offering the Bu
ddhist tradition’s long experience in working with what most of us would
rather avoid. Ani Choyang speaks from lived monastic training and persona
l practice\, translating ancient methods into guidance anyone can use. The
talk sets up the three programs Maitripa will offer across the coming yea
r\, each devoted to one of these difficult\, universal experiences. \nRegi
ster here\n\nA Day for Women: Fierce and Steady Practice\nSaturday\, Septe
 mber 19\, 2-5 pm\n\n\nOn the afternoon of Saturday\, September 19\, 2026\,
Maitripa College will host a gathering for women\, marking the close of t
he Hidden Happiness Tour’s Portland visit\, led by Ani Choyang\, Venerab
le Yönten\, and Maitripa College leadership. The intention is simple: to
fill the space with women’s practice and to connect with one another wi
th care and attention. Through sitting practice\, guided reflection\, and
shared conversation\, the afternoon will turn toward the distinct qualitie
s women have long carried within the tradition\, a fierceness capable of m
eeting anger\, fear\, and mortality without flinching\, alongside a steady
\, strong attention that holds space for others to do the same. Consider i
t a first gathering\, seeds rather than harvest\; what grows from it will
depend on who comes and what each person brings. In person in Portland on
ly. Enquire for details at education@maitripa.org.\n\nAbout Ani Choyang\n
Ani Choyang was born in Tibet and escaped to India at age 18. She became a
nun in 2003 under the guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. She
received the Rapjampa Degree (similar to a Master’s degree) in 2022 afte

health benefits\, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems\, an
