DESCRIPTION:Join local authors Jen Dupree & Jennifer Braunfels at the Main
Library on Saturday\, September 12th at 2pm for a conversation about thei
 r books\, being writers and friendship. \nAbout the books: \nSlow Motion b
y Jen Dupree – We live in a society that values speed and efficiency\, s
o what does it mean when your life is necessarily slow and you must rely o
n others for tasks as simple as wiping your nose? Through nearly thirty ye
ars of Portland Pirates hockey games\, concerts\, hospital advocacy battle
s\, and countless adventures\, Jen discovers the answer alongside Marcel\,
a man twenty-five years her senior who has cerebral palsy. Slow Motion is
both a heartfelt tribute to an extraordinary friendship and an awakening
to disability rights and advocacy. \nEverything You Love Ends Up In A Yard
Sale by Jennifer Braunfels – Grace knows her boyfriend is hiding someth
ing from her\, but she hasn’t figured out what it is. Yet. Against her b
etter judgement\, she convinces herself that moving to a coastal town in M
aine for a year with Liam will salvage their flailing relationship. With u
nabashed humor\, both dark and light\, Everything You Love Ends Up in a Ya
rd Sale takes readers on an intense\, transformative journey that shows us
that it’s never too late to stop letting our past choices define our fu
ture. \nAbout the authors: \nJen Dupree is the award-winning author of two
novels\, The Miraculous Flight of Owen Leach (2022) and What Do You Wa
 nt from Me? (2025). Slow Motion: A Memoir of Friendship\, Disability\, a
nd Advocacy is her first full-length work of nonfiction. She is an assis
tant editor for The Masters Review\, a library director\, and a former boo
kstore owner. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from USM’s Stonecoast p
rogram. Her work has appeared in Slippery Elm\, December\, Solstice\,
The Masters Review\, On the Rusk and other notable places. She is the wi
 nner of the Writer’s Digest Fiction Contest\, a Pushcart nominee\, and a
two-time winner of a Maine Literary Award. She lives in Maine with her hu
sband and Portuguese Water Dog (Pink) Floyd. Find her at www.JenniferDupr
ee.com. \nJennifer Braunfels lives in Maine\, where she teaches high schoo
 l English. Her chapbook\, Reclamation Days\, was a runner-up in The Maste
rs Review 2024 Chapbook Open and was a finalist in the 2025 MWPA Chapbook
Competition. Her work has appeared in McSweeney’s Internet Tendency\, Th
e Stonecoast Review\, Free Flash Fiction\, and various other places. She
’s a volunteer reader for The Masters Review and a member of the Maine W
riters and Publishers Alliance. Everything You Love Ends Up In A Yard Sale
  is her first novel.
