DESCRIPTION:Go Team Pollinator! Today the focus is on our small but mighty
(and mighty important!) pollinators\, who play a key role in keeping our
desert beautiful and providing food for many animals\, including humans! W
e explore from flies to butterflies\, gnats to bats\, and so much more! Th
ree different 35-minute workshops will take place on the half-hour startin
g at 9:00am and Rangers Jacque\, Nikki and Olivia will be your guides. Po
llinators: Celebrities like bees\, butterflies and hummingbirds get most
of the attention but let’s not forget about the low-key beetles\, ants\,
moths and more that keep the system in motion. You can also take part in
a relay race to experience some of the obstacles a pollinator must overcom
e to get the job done. Invasive Species: Learn about some of the invasiv
e\, non-native plants in our area that take over habitat and prevent nativ
e plants from growing – and reduce food available to our pollinators! Yo
u can also play a game to see how human and natural factors impact the sur
vival and success of our native species. The struggle is real! Plant a Se
ed: Become a Pollinator Protector by planting native seeds in a pot that
you can take home. Find out which plant types and colors attract different
pollinators so you can create a mini oasis in your back yard. \nOptional:
Enhance your experience by creating a citizen science record of observati
ons we make today (we’ll talk more about that during class!) using your
phone or tablet. Download the free iNaturalist app and create an account a
t home beforehand\, as there is limited connectivity in the park. (Seek by
iNaturalist is an alternative that is geared toward younger users and doe
s not use location data). \nOne workshop takes place on the Nature Center
’s shaded back patio\, one workshop is split between indoors and outdoor
s\, and one is outdoors the entire time. There is minimal walking on compa
cted gravel trail surfaces near the Nature Center and asphalt in the parki
ng lot for the games. Wear closed-toe shoes\, sun protective clothing and
a hat. Be sure to bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available
at the Nature Center. \nMEETING LOCATION: Nature Center \nNo pre-registra
tion required. Upon arrival at the Nature Center\, add your name to the Si
gnup Sheet for the Start Time that you want: 9:00am\, 9:40am\, 10:20am\, 1
1:00am\, 11:40am. All three topics (Pollinators\, Invasive Species and Pla
nt a Seed) are available at each Start Time and workshops run concurrently
. There is a limit of 20 people per time slot. Be sure to give yourself en
ough time (2 hours) to take part in all three sessions before the event en
 ds at 12:15pm! \nAges 6 – 12

DESCRIPTION:The first reported HIV case in 1981 sparked widespread fear an
d stigma. Initially\, HIV received minimal government attention\, mainly b
ecause it affected marginalized populations.    \n\nAccording to A Time
line of HIV and AIDS\, by the mid-1990s\, after years of fear and loss\, t
here was new hope as HIV rates were decreasing\, and new treatments helped
people live longer\, healthier lives.   \n\nFast-forward to December 17
\, 2025. According to the latest update to A Timeline of HIV and AIDS\, th
e Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program achieved a record 91.4% rate of patients rec
eiving HIV medical care. The program also served its highest number of cli
ents ever in 2024\, providing care to more than 602\,000 people.   \n\nHI
V stigma can affect anyone. Together\, we can challenge misconceptions\, c
reate supportive communities\, and make it easier for everyone to access t
he care they deserve.     \n\nManaging Your Mental Health    \n\nYo
ur story is more than a diagnosis. Your voice\, your experiences\, and you
r health journey matter.   \n\nLiving with HIV can come with emotional c
hallenges\, especially after a new diagnosis. Taking care of your mental h
ealth is just as important as taking care of your physical health\, and th
ere are ways to support your well-being throughout your journey.  \n\n\nC
onnecting with a supportive community  \nChoosing affirming and understa
nding healthcare providers  \nSetting goals and celebrating accomplishme
nts  \nAsking for help when needed \n\n\nTaking care of your mental hea
lth can support your overall well-being and make it easier to stay on trac
k with routine checkups and medication.  \n\nEducation and Support   \
n\nBeing able to find a community where you can be your authentic self is
important. Find a place where you can have judgment-free conversations\, f
eel supported\, and thrive.  \n\nAt Prisma\, we provide tools and resourc
es through educational events\, including HIV 101 workshops\, outreach eve
nts\, and our annual Pride celebrations.   \n\nThese events help build
community and empower you through education\, testing\, and support.
\n\nWe Can All Make a Difference   \n\nOne of the most powerful ways to
challenge HIV stigma is to talk openly about HIV.   \n\nStarting a con
versation creates an opportunity to:   \n\nAsk questions  \nCorrect
 misconceptions  \nLearn more about HIV  \nUse respectful\, stigma-fr
ee language  \nHelp normalize conversations about HIV and sexual health
\n\n\n\n\nResources such as the CDC’s Let’s Stop HIV Together sti
gma language guide can help us choose words that are respectful\, supporti
ve\, and inclusive.   \n\nEvery conversation is an opportunity to reduc
e stigma.   \n\nYour Journey Starts Here   \n\nFeel empowered by kno
wing your status.   \n\nPrisma offers free HIV testing in a confidentia
l\, welcoming environment so you can understand your status and take the n
ext steps with confidence.    \n\nYou will also find:    \n\nSam
e-day and walk-in availability  \nPrEP and PEP support in one place
\nConfidential\, respectful care  \nIntegrated sexual health services
with no extra steps  \n\n\nOur clinic provides care that is connected\
, supportive\, and built for long-term health. Beyond care and prevention\
, we can also connect you with community and social support resources.
