 Drive Instructions: Take Cave Creek Rd into the town of Cave Creek. As the
  road bends to go East\, watch for Spur Cross Rd to go left. No Light.\nFo
 llow SCR as it jogs left\, and follow the signs to the trailhead.\nThere i
 s a pay station inside the park. We meet in the big lot at the end of the 
 road and walk together to the pay station.  Fees have recently gone up so
  have some dollar bills\, maybe 10.

DESCRIPTION:Join Ranger Eric for an after-hours trail walk to look for and
  learn about the nocturnal critters of the Preserve! Wildlife seen on past
  walks have included bats\, ringtails\, foxes\, skunks\, javelinas\, deer\
 , owls\, scorpions\, insects\, and other cool creepy crawlies! Please brin
 g your own flashlights and blacklights if you have them\, but some will be
  available to borrow. Please dress in layers and wear sturdy footwear\, an
 d carry ample water. Trails are rated as easy and are mostly flat\, but th
 ere may be some uneven or sandy surfaces. We will hike about 1-1.5 miles r
 oundtrip. The gate will be open half hour before the walk\, but closed whi
 le the walking is going on\, as this is an after-hours event requiring pre
 -registration. Allow yourself extra time to drive to the Preserve if comin
 g from the Phoenix area\, due to increased rush hour traffic by U.S. 60 (G
 rand Ave.) and the Loop 303 Freeway. \nMEETING LOCATION: Visitor Center \n

 pants. To register\, please call the Visitor Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 9

 gram is all ages\, but might not be suitable for toddlers or young childre
 n due to their perception of the darkness and hiking length. Registration 
 for this program will close on 9/16. \nPLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer program
 s may be canceled on short notice due to inclement weather\, including ext
 reme heat events\, severe thunderstorms\, and wildfires. The Maricopa Coun
