DESCRIPTION:Follow in the soldiers’ steps as we explore what happened du
 ring and after the Battle of Germantown. The program is offered in partner
 ship with the Concord School and Upper Burying Ground. The tour will take 
 approximately an hour and a half and cover one mile. There will be times t
 o stop and sit during the walk. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring
  a drink if needed. In the case of inclement weather\, this tour will be r

  time when discussions of freedom and independence were in everyone’s th

 of works by six contemporary artists: Naya Lee Chang\, Janna Gregonis\,
  Jacintha Kruc\, Kristen Neville Taylor\, Jonathan Wahl\, and Samara 
 Weaver. Sited within the historic interiors and grounds of Cliveden\, the 
 project reflects on the history of people and place in commemoration of th
 e U.S. Semi-quincentennial.\n\nThe exhibition is organized by Past Present
  Projects in partnership with Cliveden of the National Trust. Looking Glas
 s is part of Radical Americana\, a city-wide series of exhibitions organi

 he property changed over 400 years.\n\nThe tour will take approximately an
  hour and a half and cover 1.5 miles. There will be times to stop and sit 
 during the walk. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a drink if nee
 ded. In the case of inclement weather\, this tour will be rescheduled.\n\n

  of the month\, from May to October! House tours are available 12pm to 4pm

 day\, May 1\, 2026! Tours are available Thursdays through Sundays\, 12pm t
 o 4pm\, beginning on the hour. The last tour of the day is at 3pm. Each to
 ur is an hour-long experience\, led by a Cliveden Interpreter. Tours begin
  in the Cliveden Barn (located at 98 E. Cliveden Street\, 19119) followed 
 by the grounds\, first and second floor of the House\, and our new exhibit
 \, Procuring Liberty in the Emerging Nation\, debuting in 2026.\n\nTours c
 an be scheduled in advance through our website or in person during tour da
 ys. Please contact our office at 215-848-1777 if you require accommodation
  as tours include first and second floor of the house. To learn more about

 /.\n\nProcuring Liberty in the Emerging Nation\n\nThe North American conti
 nent became the site of war beginning in the 1750s and continued throughou
 t the next three decades. The construction of Cliveden occurred during thi
 s violent time. A growing household of over twenty people at Cliveden resh
 aped their identities and looked to retain or procure their liberty at a t
 ime when discussions of freedom and independence were in everyone’s thou
 ghts. This exhibit explores their experiences and struggles as a new natio
 n formed.\n\nProcuring Liberty in the Emerging Nation is made possible by

 n\, the Richard Dietrich III Foundation\, The Chester County History Cente
